Laughs, Memories, Fun, Friends – with Cocktails! **NEW...Really! 7/25 p.7**

Hey there. I was a CP last summer! So... a magical Disney point to you! :) Anyway, I'm subscribing... this looks like it'll be a fun one!

Thanks for joining the party!

I'm hoping this will be a really fun trip that will make a really great TR! I have to tell Amanda that I'm writing a TR about it. Once she stops the "you're writing a report about your trip for a bunch of strangers?" looks, she'll probably help me out remembering parts and taking good pictures.

Exactly 2 weeks from today I will be walking around WDW with a great friend that I have not seen in way too long! :woohoo: I'm so excited!

I keep forgetting that I need to buy my annual pass. How do I keep forgetting to do that? I think I will order the FL Res annual pass off the WDW site and pick it up at will call or the ticket counter or whatever it is they call it.

Question - the room is going on my credit card. I already paid the one night deposit. But she is checking in on Thursday and I'm not getting there til Friday. Will they make her pay the balance right then and there? Or could it wait until I get there? I actually planned on paying it off before we both leave so it wouldn't be an issue, but just in case, would they make her pay it?

Have a great weekend! :cutie:

Oh man. I just noticed a pretty big mistake in my itinerary. Clearly I cannot read a calendar as I switched Friday and Saturday around. So here is the revised tentative plan:

Thursday May 17:
Amanda arrives around 1 and checks into Pop while I'm still at school with therapy clients til 4. If I decide to leave after school, we will do PI tonight.

Friday May 18:
If I didn't come up on Thursday, I'm leaving ridiculously early (re: 6am) for Orlando. This way I should arrive by 9-ish and have a full day ahead of us. We plan on having lunch somewhere in World Showcase (she has requested Mexico, Morrocco, or Canada and I have vetoed Morrocco since it was my least favorite) No ADR has been made so we'll see - I'm waiting on her to tell me if she wants lunch/dinner and what times. Anywho, we'll also be drinking around the world today! A wonderful past time which usually has me seeing double by the time I hit Germany (if you start in Mexico). Good times. We will watch Illuminations and then stay for EMH that night.

Saturday May 19:
Today we will do an assortment of parks followed by a night out on the town. We will probably go offsite, maybe Howl at the Moon or clubs in that area...any suggestions?

Sunday May 20:
Today will be another assortment of parks to get in our must sees. Tonight we will be going to House of Blues. Ladies' night baby! Losers that get there before 10 get free drinks (female losers that is). That is a title I'm willing to take for free cocktails.

Monday May 21:
Good-bye's. Her plane leaves early afternoon and I'll probably leave sometime early to mid-morning.

So there ya go...

Hi Shannon,
Just jumping on board, i am loving your sneaky ways, I'm actually doing a similar sort of thing for my friends in August but ssshhhhh;) I'm so excited for you, think you and your long lost friend will have a blast. Funnily enough, I was at Wonders of Life in Jan 2002, maybe I heard your dulcit tones at some point....anyway, looking forward to reading more :thumbsup2

I like you already - you have the same name as my 6 yr old niece and she's a doll, so you must be too!

You might have heard me...but my last day was Jan 3rd so more likely it was someone else. I'm so bummed it's closed. I'll honestly admit it needed updating, but now it holds such sentimental meaning to me that I hate not being able to go inside. I may have downloaded all the pavilion music so I can listen to it when I get really sentimental :rolleyes1

Oh, me, me! I have a suggestion! :yay: It's not off site though. We are going to AC that night! Come meet us! I guess I still haven't PM'ed you my itinerary, huh? Suppose I should do that. It's also on the first page of my pre-trippie. ;)

I will definitely think about it...especially if we don't make it there on Thursday. Do you think PI on the whole will be on the crowded side on a Saturday? We don't want it packed but we definitely would like a decent crowd - makes it more fun that way. I'll have to go take another look at your Pre-TR so I can look at your itinerary.

I can't wait to tell my friend that I'm trying to find someone I "know" on the internet.

Me: Amanda, there's this site called the DIS Boards. And I talk to these people called, Peeps. Well, one of them is at WDW right now and I'm trying to find her so I can have a mini-Peep meet. :rotfl2:
Amanda:

OMG Shannon I have that exact same conversation with DH, DD's, DSis, Mum, Dad, Friends obviously they're not going with me but they're still like  :sad2: And DH still isn't convinced DLMama, PrincessV, sorul82? and Lauralee131 are not axe murderers :rotfl2:

I agree - a decent crowd makes PI a bit more fun! We have found that if we get to AC early enough, it's all good. We've done Saturdays before there, and they were fine. Busy, yes, but it's not like the other clubs. I think it's always a little more laid back there, even when it's crowded. We just always get as close to the library door as possible.

 That oughta be interesting! I have introduced one of my friends to the DIS, and she knows of the "Peep thread". I don't think she thinks I'm crazy, but then again, she's a lot like me, so she hasn't got much room to talk! :rotfl:

Hi Shannon! :) I just caught up on your TR! Your itinerary looks really good. You have been working so hard this semester. I hope you and your friend have a great time!:cool1:

Time for some updates! :thumbsup2 The trip is only a week away and I’m very excited. :woohoo: I’m not excited about the school work I will have to get ahead on this week so I won’t be super stressed and busy on my return. But that is just the price I’m willing to pay to go to Disney.

It looks like Friday will definitely be an Epcot day, with Illuminations, EMH, and drinking around the world. I called to make a lunch ADR yesterday for Le Cellier. Did anyone else know that Canada (or maybe just Le Cellier) will be closed that weekend? I didn’t. oops. So I went with our 2nd choice, San Angel Inn for 1:00 p.m. I’m excited to eat here because I always want to eat here, but my mom never does. Truthfully I’ve had much better Mexican food at a place 5 minutes from my house, but I just love that pavilion. Even the lame-o ride.

And I’ve been doing some shopping. My Disney credit card must love me. (Just think of all the Disney rewards your earning, Shannon)

My Crocs arrived a few days ago:

I know they are boring colors. But I'm way too matchy matchy of a person. I just couldn't bring myself to buy the fun colors.

I had my highlights touched up and a trim:

And the rest of the things I bought are clothes so you’ll see me in them. I got a pair of shorts, a couple tanks, and a “club” shirt for one of our girls’ nights out.

This morning I made a pit stop at Home Depot for some LGMH. I obviously needed nothing else at home depot but those darn LGMH. I seriously felt like a convict, attempting to steal 1,000s of dollars in merchandise the entire time I was in the store. I casually walked up to the paint samples. I made a pretty convincing attempt that I was seriously considering painting something in my house lime green. Then I casually reached out and grabbed about 20 of them. Then I noticed the green next to it. Is that DIS-er green? Or is this it? Just to be sure, I grabbed about 20 of that green shade as well. And 1 blue and 1 purple. Just for good measure. I was very convincing. Then I casually turned around looked both ways to make sure I wasn’t being followed, shoved the mickey heads in my pocket and walked right out the door, bold as brass. When I got home, I took a pic of the stolen goods:

The other big issue, other than being a fugitive on the run for stealing LGMH, is when I should leave for the trip. I would probably be getting on the turnpike around 4:30 on Thursday by the time I put all of my materials away and make it to the entrance ramp. School is farther south than my house is so it’d be a longer trip too. In the middle of rush hour no less. Once I get past Jupiter/Stuart it usually isn’t that bad, but I’m still not sure if I want to be stuck on the Turnpike after a long day in rush hour traffic trying to get to Orlando. My alternative is leaving at 6am on Friday morning, putting me at WDW by 9, tops. Door to door.

But then Amanda put the guilt trip on me. How we haven’t seen each other in 2 years and we’d have so much fun at PI. And how she has to drive 3 hours to get to the airport after her day of work too. Blah, blah, blah. I’m such a sucker. So now I don’t know what to do. Ideally I’d love to go up on Thursday but I hate driving on the highway. Even though once I get going, I feel fine. But it stresses me out so the less traffic the better. I know this is my decision, but if anyone has something to offer that might help me make up my mind, that’d be great.

So that is it for now. I'm super excited to see Amanda and of course, visit WDW!

Thanks for reading! :cutie:

Hi Shannon! Thanks for the update! I am getting my first Crocs tomorrow. I want to get one pair of black Mary Janes and I think a pair of the beach kind. I'm not sure what color though. I'm not big on driving in a lot of traffic either. However, if it was to get to Disney sooner, I might be more inclined.:)

 the new do! Great update!

It is getting SOOOOOooooooooooooo close!!! I can't wait! I am so in vacation mode already. How about you? And I have tons to finish up at work before we leave too. It will be a well-deserved vacation for both of us when it gets here!

Hi! I figured everyone needs black and brown shoes so that's why I got the black mary janes and brown caymans.

Of course as I was seriously thinking I would leave on Thursday, I hear on the news that there was a huge accident on 595 (east and west - I don't need to take this, but still) and both east and west were closed for hours. My fear is that this would happen to me and I'd still be sitting 30 minutes from my house at 8pm

Thanks for the compliment. I've since put my hair in a pony and I'm actually liking the bangs now. You can see them but they aren't terribly annoying.

I'm so in vacation mode which is B A D! First of all, I'm in vacation mode food wise and I really would like to lose another lb or so this week (to make up for anything I gain at WDW). And it's bad because I have a lot to do as well for school. Plus I'm not even close to being ready to pack. You're the lucky one though - you're staying twice as long as me! But I'm not complaining because I get to go back in June :cool1:

OMG, I'm in love with your 'do!! It's totally what mine was supposed to do, but it never got the message :rotfl:

Thanks! He always blows it under and my hair very naturally does the flippy flip. Today when I did it, it flipped out a lot more around my face but I still like it. I tend to keep the same hair do all the time but vary it by about 5 inches longer or shorter

To say I'm getting excited is the understatement of the year.

But I"M EXCITED!

I talked to Amanda the other night. A friend of hers that she worked with at Disney will be joining us Friday probably, so I added her to our San Angel Inn ressie. Then I changed the time to 3 pm, so we could do another park before heading to Epcot. We're thinking AK Friday morning.

It looks like I will be leaving Thursday night. After Amanda's guilt trip, I was contemplating it. Then the next day I received a myspace message from my orlando friend telling me that I need to come up on Thursday so we could go to PI. Totally random because I hadn't even mentioned to him that I might come up on Thursday. Then my DSIL told me to just leave Thursday as well to get some extra time in. So bearing any highway closures or yucky rainy weather, I'm pretty positive I'm leaving on Thursday after school.

So Amanda is using Magical Express since she's flying in and it's, well, FREE! I sent her our ressie info so she could make the arrangements months ago. Well I asked her if she made it yet, and she just made them today! :scared: Talk about panic on my end. Is booking 3 days before you leave something that is ok? Don't you need fancy luggage tags or something? I guess everything worked out because she didn't call me back in a panic but whoa, it freaked me out.

I've started to pack. Well sort of. I made a list and I've thrown some things in my bag or suitcase. I really do have so much school stuff to do (that I cannot concentrate on) that I need to do something. So far all I've managed to do is make yet another list of stuff I need to get done and think about doing it. And watch the E! True Hollywood Story of Dancing with the Stars :rolleyes1

I did, however, punch some holes in my LGMH. Very productive, no? Not sure exactly how you are supposed to display them on yourself, but I plan on tying a ribbon through it and attaching it to my bag. So look for me!

Oh and I paid off the rest of our Pop resort balance. I didn't want Amanda to have to deal with it so I just paid it all. Then she will pay me her part while we're down there. And I get the Disney reward dollars for all my spending :thumbsup2

I still need to buy my tickets. :headache: Keep forgetting about it! I'm getting an annual pass for Florida residents. On the disney website, it has an option where you can buy it, but then pick it up at the Ticket counter or something. I think I'm going to do that. Must do it tonight actually!

Let's see...anything else? Don't think so. I'll probably post one more installment before I leave!

Thanks for reading! :cutie:

WoooHooo! Your WDW trip is almost here! Wow! Time sure went by fast! I hope you have a great time - this is such a wonderful time of year to go! :flower3: The Flower & Garden Fest at Epcot is beautiful. It looks like you're well stocked with LGMHs! LOL! :magnify: We just hang them off of our fanny packs/bags/backpacks. Oh, and congrats on buying an Annual Pass! :thumbsup2 It's such a great feeling to have one. I'm so excited for you - 4 more days!

Hi Moderators!

Do you think you could move this over to the trip reports board since I'm leaving in a few days?

Thanks! :flower3:
