Laugh of the Day

Girl falls into fountain while texting. Luckily, mall security was on the job and captured it all on video!

I've watched this video over and over. I love it. In College I worked in this very Mall, so it makes it even funnier that I know exactly where the fountain is that she fell into.

I won't go so far as to say she deserved it, but I'm sure it's not the first time she's been distracted by her texting. She should be thankful it wasn't while she as driving.

That's the first thing that came into my mind, as well.

What mall is this?

I keep laughing, but thinking about this poor girl. Could you imagine your most embarassing moment being played over and over on TV for the world to see?

The funniest thing to me is that she was probably thinking "I don't think anyone saw that." after she got out because it doesn't look like anyone saw her fall in other than the camera.

Then it ends up on the internet and news shows all over the world.

How can I get a fountain placed in front of every texting maniac walking without thinking? :lmao:

That was awesome. I hadn't seen it before. Thank you for posting it!
She is now suing the mall for the embarrassment, and the guy that posted it to Youtube has been fired.
I'm sometimes a bit slow, so excuse me if this is a dumb question, but is this true?

Eh, she should relax. Daniel Tosh will give her a web redemption and she'll get her 15 minutes of fame. What more could she want?

I said this to DW last night when I was showing her the clip. She's an easy candidate for a Web Redemption. :rotfl:

For anyone who wants to see what she looks like, and hear more about it, here's a link from the Reading Eagle newspaper:

'Fountain Girl' discusses worldwide splash

Alright I'll be the lone dissenter. Of course the guy got fired! Its one thing to joke about it with the guy at the pretzel stand on his next rounds, but when the security guard is inviting people in to the control room to videotape them and joke around while on the job? That guy is the moron.

I heard the Dj's on my morning show joking about it like its the best thing ever :confused3 They said their favourite thing was how she keeps going like nothing happened Someone brought that up in this thread. I pictured someon full on walking through the rest of the fountain. That isn't what happens at all. She full on trips, and then gathers herseld up as best she can and then hurries to the edge. Huh :confused3 Its just soeone tripping, I hope she wasn't hurt.

I had no idea she WORKED at the mall! You'd think an employee might remember there are fountains around. I was assuming she was a harried shopper.

At least she serves as another example of the dangers of not paying attention to where you're going, whether you're texting or something else. She could have plowed into someone in a wheelchair or something.

sorcerormickey - it was a ditzy 49 year old! :lmao:

I've been following this all morning! Granted, the security guys should NOT have blasted that for the world to see. There's got to be something in their job description that forbids it.

BUT, the woman? Give me a break. She wasn't hurt, and she admittedly laughed at herself when it was over. But now her feelings are hurt because the world is laughing, so she needs a lawyer? Get a grip! Nobody even knew who she was until she came forward. She could have slipped off into anonymity, but had to come forward to make the embarrassment worse. What a joke.

I agree! I missed it yesterday on GMA, but saw it today when she was there with her lawyer. The best part was that half the time she was talking about it they were replaying the video over and over. :rotfl:

If that happened to me, I would be so excited that I had become a you tube star. What a negative attitude to have - suing the mall. Some people just can't handle their 15 minutes.
