We were at Guest Services july 18th at Epcot to ask a question. ALL the CMs at Guest Services were handing out free latex balloons to the children.
As you might remember my son has a severe latex allergy. I wanted to give a heads-up to those with the allergy to be careful if they go to guest services. I did ask Tom a CM there about the handing out of these balloons before I left. He quickly blew one up and started to hand it to me. I told him we can't accept it as my son is allergic. The other kids were loving them and since they were long balloons, they were using them as swords and fighting each other. Tom informed me that all the guest services have balloons to hand out to the guests, except Animal Kingdom where they are not allowed. He also said that there are places onsite that make balloon animals for the guests as well. My son stayed outside of guest services with his dad, and he did not have any problems that day.
I asked if Disney had any type of list that would list where latex could be found on any of the attractions. He said he wasn't aware of any, so he called the disabilities office. The person he talked to, said there is no list. I was told I could ask at each ride, but that the ride operators may or may not know. He assured me that each attraction has paramedics. I should have asked if the paramedics had equipment that was latex-free, but I didn't think to ask that at the time.
It's back to school time. Here is a link to latex free school products.
