latest you can add-delete DDP from DVC reservation?

what is the latest to add DDP your DVC reservation? And what is latest time to cancel (if you can) DDP? I assume that you can't tell them at check-in that you don't want DDP?

We had a situation arise in Dec with our family. I called Member services and asked this question. I was told 48 hrs. Of course, you have to factor in the weekends. The hours were different in Dec. This week there has been several members reporting that the phone lines have stayed busy, I would not wait until that close to check in, unless it is an emergency. We did have the emergency situation. I ended up leaving it alone.

On adding, I've heard 3 days and I've heard 5 days. I'm not sure what is correct, but I wouldn't let it go until the last minute. I know that you are not supposed to be able to add it on arrival...although I don't know why.

I'd use the same timeframes for cancellation, although I think you could really just say no thanks at checkin. I assume if you decline to pay for it, they would cancel it. But I think I would call Disney Dining and be sure. You know what happens when we assume!
