Hello my fellow Disers,
I just wanted you all to know what just happend. I called CRO to tell them that I knew CBR was closing and that I wanted them to put on my Ressie that it was a suprise for my DH and that they were only to talk to me. The CM said that they were making calls starting TOMORROW!!!! He also informed me that they were NOT offering upgrades! Not even for a little bit more. You have your choice at any other one of the Mods. POFQ,POR, &CSR. He told me I should just change my ressies now. I didn't do it yet because it took me 2 mths to decide on CBR. I hope whoever gets called tomorrow will let us know if this is all true!

Wow, that's interesting. My reservations are not until December, so I'm going to wait & see what happens.

No matter where I stay, I'll be in Disney World, so how bad can it be??? :D

Very cool. Thats much better than the 2 weeks estimate for a call I was given. My ressies are for September 16th, so they should be contacting me soon. I'll let you folks know how it works out as soon as they contact me (or rather, as soon as they contact my travel agent).

We are supposed to be at CBR Nov 23 to Dec 3 (thanksgiving week). I too am just going to wait it out and see what they offer because no matter what Im still going to Disney World!!! But Im find it very strange that they are not going to offer upgrades even at an additional price. How are they going to fit all the CBR people at the other moderates? I know they didnt offer codes at CSR, but I cant imagine they could fit everyone in there? Anyone else think this sounds strange?

It could be that Disney, knowing thelandscape knew they could move the CBR guests out with openings in the other mods. If bookingings are down across the board, and only Disney would know for sure, I'm sure there are enough rooms.

The only stickler in this is if CSR has any conventions going on during CBR's shutdown. If they have a convention, a lot of those rooms are held for/booked by conventioneers so that may mean less availability at that particular resort at some times - I have heard October is a big convention month - and that your only choices will be POR or POFQ.

So, if there isn't enough room at the other moderates and there are no upgrades, the other options are the All-Stars or paying a lot more for deluxe... Makes me wonder if they'll still expect us to pay the moderate rates at AS's.

I'm beginning to think it's a good idea to get a jump on changing now rather than settle for what's left when they get around to calling.

I think if there is no availability at the other moderates they will probably offer AKL or WL for an upgrade at no charge (standard view). From the posts I read from the PO-FQ close, that's what they did. I think when they made this decision they were pretty confident they would have availability at the other moderates for most people. That's why if you want an upgrade, you are better off waiting for the call, if you are lucky the other moderates may be sold out for your dates. They are saying no upgrades because they don't want people calling now trying to get them. There's no way they'll make you pay moderate price for All Star.
