Latest DVC Perks Announcement

Had a terrible experience this morning when trying to book a culinary and wine demo. Called right at 9am, and did not finish the call until 9:30am. Seems as if training might have been lacking for the agents since first I was told they weren't booking these and then when I asked to speak to a supervisor, was on hold for 10 minutes. Agent came back and said her supervisor walked her through how to book these. I got what I wanted, but it was a bit painful. :confused3

I had much the same experience. What should have been a 5-10 minute phone call took 25 minutes because the DVC rep didn't know what was going on. I kept telling her what to do and she would say "Thank you for telling me that" then put me on hold while she would verify the information I gave her!

I booked mine this morning and they told me these events were at the Welcome Center.

Does anyone know do we pick up these tickets somewhere or do we just check in and our names are on a list or something like that?

;)and that would be located where in epcot?

Just wanted to give a head's up to anyone who booked Food and Wine seminars with MS. I just checked my credit card pending charges and everything I booked is pending at full price. Not sure what to do, the whole booking process with MS was not fun as others said. Just really annoys that they send email and then don't train their people. Good thing I didn't book that many seminars.

Just got off the phone with MS, a lovely CM was able to correct the charges on all my seminars and credit back my credit card. :thumbsup2

If I didn't have any better perks to announce to members than these, I would have just kept my mouth shut and done nothing. These are all fine and well if you're going to F&W (We do every other year but probably not this year.) and you attend the seminars ($$$) but to me, it's muchado about nothing.

It's just like the so-called perks abut Lion King on Broadway. So what! I guess it's OK if you want to save $20 (Not sure what it actually was/is but nothing relative to a trip to NYC to visit Broadway.) while attending a Broadway show and all but it's insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

All I see out of these kinds of so-called announcements is the "throw the natives a cheap bone because they're getting restless" attitude and for my part, I'd just as soon they do nothing as to present nothingness as something earth-shattering.

Just MHO.

That's cool...everyone gets an opinion and as always there's no right or wrong opinion.

I do disagree with you though. F&W has proven to be an immensely popular destination for DVC members. So offering something in advance of the general public was a nice perk for those who can take advantage of it (as some on this thread have already reported).

And even though I don't see myself using any of these perks, I don't think of them as meaningless.

And Disney did send an e-mail, but I don't think anything there pointed to these perks as being "earth shattering". Just a nice note that included the announced perks. And yes, some marketing fluff but I wouldn't expect anything different from any other company.

I don't think these perks are awesome. But I don't think they are meaningless either. Just MHO.

Personally I think any perk is nice and is not something we should expect.

i didn't take advantage of this one because the seminars this year are truly pathetic IMHO, but I don't blame DVC for that.... (Korean wines, really LOL!)
