Late spring 2025 incentives (April 29-July 14)

Alright, well your story has incentivized me to go ahead and purchase my D23 Gold membership since I am likely purchasing more direct points in the near future. Same thing as you - can get into the app, but says "Your digital card is loading."

Also have to say it is ridiculous they charge you $9.99 for shipping but then can't get you stuff for 8-12 weeks.
Just reporting back on this - got my D23 Gold card and membership packet today (just in time to meet with my guide in person next week!). So, ordered on 6/18, arrived 7/8. Not as bad as the threatened 8-12 weeks, but not very great either.

Also of note, the coupon book they send with your card includes a page that explicitly lays out the $500 off DVC purchase offer - good until 12/31/2025 (your formal tour just has to be completed by that date). I was sort of curious about the terms because I don't think I have explicitly found it anywhere online. As such, I don't think it is anything that can be taken away during any given incentive period (well, maybe it can legally, but one would assume they aren't likely to do that).

Fingers crossed that they don't do a giant push to sell out Riviera. We would rather wait till 2026 (maybe 2027) to add on there, but we certainly would like to.
No, big sale, please! Big sale, please! Well, I'd be happy if they were going to hold off until sometime next year if I could know when that would be, so I'll take it now before my October UY begins. Not holding my breath any way you cut it though.

Fellow cursed Oct use year here. Who knew that we would never get the resale deals like Dec folk

FWIW, I have found the Oct UY to have way more availability than my Sep UY. I was also able to get the VGF “fire sale” deal in Sep for Oct.
Yeah, I took the Riviera deal that summer, I’m kind of glad I did as now when I try and use my poly points, I regret not being by Epcot.

I definitely spent a month going back-and-forth between grand Floridian and Riviera.

Cursed how?? Love Oct :)
I think he just means that Oct is less common UY than most, and especially so at BLT. Makes the available resale contracts (particularly those priced as a good deal) less common. And, maybe I'm patting myself on the back a little too much, but I think it might be a UY that people who have done their research tend to pick more than others. I suspect most DVC purchasers pick December or February because it is closest to the calendar year and not for any strategic reason.

Old data here if you've never seen it - my understanding is that it can't really be updated anymore, but gives us some idea of UY distribution:

I don’t think most buyers actually pick their use year. I suspect they take what their guide suggests or offers.

I bought resale first partially so I could be more open to different availability of resale use years. I was ok with October or December. I found a December contract first, and I don’t regret it. I don’t foresee a situation where we ever travel in the fall or in December. We love January and February, and I’d probably go back again in early June but it isn’t my preference.

I bought resale first , and then had to argue with my guide to get the same use year. They requested copies of my contract since we had not closed.

Just to bring this back to the topic of the thread, now would be a good time to buy direct if you are OK with the current incentives but want to have the option to see what the new incentives will be on July 15th because of the 10-day ability to rescind without losing your deposit.
For folks that have done this, do you typically get the paperwork started but just wait until after the new incentives to drop before you sign anything?

You would sign under the current incentives, but let your guide know that you plan to cancel within 10-days and sign new paperwork if the new round of incentives is better.

To add to this, I called my guide before the last round of incentives expired, and he just held them open for another 7 days… no need to even sign contracts or have any paperwork done.
It’s like this. They even have a note that the incentives are valid 7 days after the tour, which can be in person, online or by phone.

I believe it’s a law to avoid people feel pressured into buying at the spot or losing the deal.

I will pat my own back with you :) We were offered Dec on our first tour, took 2 months to learn all the things, and then were told Feb was the current offer when we finally decided to buy. But we asked for, and got, Oct :)

Glad you received yours. We ordered 6/1 and are still waiting. I guess we are on Mickey's Naughty List.

That's infuriating - sorry to hear it. I will say, I sent them a bit of a nasty e-mail yesterday - expressing frustration that the app doesn't work to show your digital card and that I hadn't receive my physical card yet. Of course, I sort of felt like an idiot when they replied and said, here is your tracking number, it should have been delivered today (the exact same day I sent the e-mail). Maybe worth a shot to send an e-mail - don't know if I can post it here or not - if you google D23 e-mail, it will show up.

Do you even need to get the process started? I was under the impression just a price quote in that interim would lock you in for a short period.
