That’s right, we’ll be at WDW at Spring Break peak (April 5-11), because we’re gluttons for punishment. But we are not early risers by nature. Can we possibly do all we want to do without going commando? We’ll see…

I’m not saying we’re the type to sleep in till noon or even 900am. I just don’t see us at morning EMHs or rope drops. Even when not on vacation, DS14 and I are night owls, so evening EMHs past midnight are right up our alley. DW likes her beauty sleep and considers it distasteful to wake as early during weekends or vacation as she does for work. DD9 could be an early-rising commando were it not for her layabout family.

Though we’ve been to WDW many times (this will be DD’s 5th trip), this vacation will hold many new experiences. At 6 nights, it will be our longest stay at Disney; we’ve never done more than 4 consecutive nights. We’ve also never been at the World without a car. We’re used to room-only reservations since we’ve always arrived with leftover days on old park-hopper passes. This time, we’re going whole-hog MYW with dining and park-hoppers. My birthday falls on our last day at WDW.

Here’s the preliminary plan, including TS ADRs. For the most part, I’m picking parks to visit in daytime based on Touringplan.com’s recommendations, but always hopping to the park with evening EMH.

  • Sunday: Fly into Tampa @1100am. Rent car from National and drive to WDW. Check into Contemporary. If we’re settled in before 400, go to a park. Return for 730 dinner at Cal Grill (stay for Wishes?). Evening EMH at MK if family has napped enough on the plane and the drive from TPA.
  • Monday: Return car to Car Care Center while family enjoys CR’s refurbished pool. Afternoon at AK. Explore AKL before/after 600 dinner at Boma. Evening EMH at AK.
  • Tuesday: While DW enjoys Mandara Spa, the rest of us will swim at CR or resort-hop around Crescent Lake. Afternoon at DS. Transfer to EP for 700 dinner at Le Chefs and evening EMH.
  • Wednesday: Resort-hop to WL (guided tour if we can rise early enough). Lunch at Whispering Canyon. Afternoon at MK or EP. CS dinner wherever we are. Go to bed early or go to EMH at DS.
  • Thursday: Morning at the pool or MK. Afternoon at DS or AK. 815 Dinner at Teppan Edo and evening EMH at Epcot.
  • Friday: Morning at the pool. Afternoon at Downtown Disney or AK. 700 dinner at Spoodles. Evening EMH at MK.
  • Saturday: Rent car at Car Care Center. Check out of CR and enjoy whichever park we choose (and pick up my Bday gift!). Drive to TPA, check into Airport Marriott, and return car.
  • Sunday: Fly home @700am.

Feedback and suggestions are most welcome.

Cheers,
Lee
