Do the park's empty out after the fireworks and fantasmic like at WDW? If the park is open til 12 can we expect much smaller crowds after? This is in early August Sunday-Wed.

From my experience when we were there in May I'm going to say no. What happened in our case was DCA closed at 10pm and Disneyland was open until midnight. When DCA closed all those that had park hoppers headed over to Disneyland. The crowds werent bad but it wasn't an empty park like at WDW. This was our first trip so others may have more experience and a different opinion.

Darnit I was worried this would be the case for us. DCA closes at 10pm as well. Planning our days it feels silly to end our day short, but with 8am opening times we need more than 5 hours sleep if we want to rope drop, there just no way to go 8am-12am 4 days in a row. :sad2:

As a dl vet, I'm always shocked when that happens at wdw, it's not the norm here in the west.

It depends on the day of the week. On weekends it stays busy till closing although the lines do drop in the last half hour. If we go on a Sunday it will clear out after fireworks when all the little ones and locals head out.

We don't find that the parks clear out that much after fireworks and F! like they do at WDW.

Some people leave after fireworks, but most people who are still there at 10pm will stay. Also, things start to close, so it concentrates people around the rides that are still open.
