Late night fun?

We're planning our honeymoon and are currently deciding which hotel to stay in. We really enjoy eating out late and staying out for drinks into the night. Originally we were thinking of a hotel near Downtown Disney as we imagined this to be like Disney Village in Paris and have restaurants and bars open late that we could stroll back to the hotel from. Is this the case?

Does anyone know what times the restarants and bars in the parks are open until? Also, what are the closing times of the parks in September, and what sort of time does transport back to the hotels go on until? I just started thinking that it's not worth getting a hotel close to Downtown Disney if it all closes really early anyway! Any experiences/advice greatly welcomed!

I always use the previous year's park hours to make provisional plans until the new ones are release about 6 months in advance.

Here are the 2010 hours for September. They did extend some of the DHS hours a few weeks earlier and I don't know if this calendar reflects those changes but it will give you an idea.

If you like late night dining, a DTD resort it probably your best bet as they stay open until anywhere between 11 pm and 1 am, depending what part of DTD you are in.

Theme park restaurants only stay open until park closing although the ones that are open at that time will continue to seat guests until 15 minutes before the park closes.

We're staying at the Boardwalk for 11 of our Honeymoon nights for exactly this reason!

We can't wait to have late nights on World Showcase, or go to Jellyrolls (late night duelling piano/music bar), there is also a nightclub, and loads of restaurants. It's walking distance to two theme parks and a lot nicer and more romantic than the resorts near DTD imo.

I think you'd be better by the Boardwalk so that gives you 5 hotels to pick from. If they are out of your price range then you can walk from DTD to Hotel Bld and the 7 hotels there.

I must concur with other the boardwalk is a great hotel, even though i have not stayed here. I do however have a few suggestions for Wilderness lodge. A lovely peaceful place for a honeymoon, not to busy with artist point and within boat to MK.

I know its not near DTD or Bars or Pubs but if you want some romantic time together then this is a great hotel

We stayed at Wildrness Lodge last year and will be again this year and loved it! We also found it very romantic, and we loved Artist Point!

Were also staying at the boardwalk too!

Another Boarwalk area vote. We are staying here the night of our wedding so we can stagger to bed after Jellyrolls. Also not far from Epcot if you fancy drinking around the world!

if you are into clubbing and late nights DTD is nothing like it used to be (when i could stay out late! LOL) - a lot of the grown ups clubs have closed. There's actually as many good nightspots at Universal Citywalk so have a look at that as well - you can stay at the Hard rock Hotel and walk over. We thought it was very well done.

Though I'm a die hard Disney fan I'd have to agree with this. The Citywalk clubs are better and tend to stay open later. Add to that the fact that you might also be able to catch a concert or show at the Hard Rock Live and I think one of the Uni onsite hotels would be a better bet.

Or for a good compromise, you could split stay between the Hard Rock and the Boardwalk.
