Late May or late July

As you can guess, we are bound by the public school calendar. Possible dates of visit are:
May 27-June 3
July 23-July 30
I know the May date would include Memorial Day.
From what I've read, both weeks could be
*crowded
*hot
*rainy
Any reason to choose one week over the other?

We have been there last week of May or first week of June four of the past five years. We also have been there for my DH's birthday on July 21 the past two years. This is an EASY recommendation. It is slightly less hot, a good bit less crowded and rains much less in May than in July.

We postponed our regular early summer trip until July in 2002 b/c my oldest child was graduating from high school. We came home saying we would never go in July again unless it was the only time we could go. It rained pretty much every day and was more crowded than we were accustomed to. We zipped down there for a weekend the next year, though, because our APs were expiring and we wanted to ride Mission Space before they did. It was hot, crowded and rained and stormed so badly our arrival day that we couldn't get to e-night as planned. Once again, we came home saying, "never again in July."

GO IN MAY! Avoid MK on the first Saturday in June -- otherwise that week is great!

We have a trip planned for late May and have been there this time in past years. I won't lie, it is hot, but as the previous poster mentioned it is less rainy (usually). The rainiest times is from July -Sept.

If I had a choice I would definitely go with May as July is also busier because of the summer break. I'm sure it'll be busy Memorial day weekend but it'll be just as busy the whole month of July. This is peak season. As season AP holders this time is blacked out for us which means it is BUSIER!

But do expect it to be hot in May and it can be a little rainy (just not as much as July).
