First timers at BRG. Once I read a review about BRG having beer cheese soup, I couldn't get that out of my mind!
And man, was it GOOD!!
It was mid afternoon, and we were hot from spending the morning and early afternoon at MGM for Star Wars Weekend.
No ADRs, and there were maybe 5 occupied tables in our section. (Although there were a few patrons outside and throughout BRG.)
I did not see one person drinking a beer. Which surprised me.
I had ice tea. DH drank a Coke.
I ordered a Hummus Dip appetizer. (cukes, carrot sticks and large pieces of pita bread with a little goat cheese crumbled on the bread. And of course hummus in the center.)
When the server brought our beverages, we ordered our main food.
I ordered a cup of beer cheese soup and a side salad with the balsamic vinaigrette dressing.
DH ordered the Mahi sandwich, which is served with chips.
When they brought our main food, I reminded the server we did not receive the appetizer yet. Oops!
They brought it in about two minutes. Luckily it was not anything that needed to stay hot.
I loved the soup.
The salad was very good too. I like a vinegary taste, so it was right up my alley. And the salad included egg and sunflower seeds. The greens tasted very fresh and tender.
The appetizer was also good. We both ate most of it. The pita bread was very tough though. Overly hard. If I cracked a tooth over it I would not have been too surprised.
DH liked his sandwich. The fish was blackened. He said the bun was not impressive. It was dry, somewhat flavorless and hard. He did not finish eating the bun.
The chips were home made style. Not hot out of the fryer. But he could tell they made their own.
He said he liked the sandwich, but would try something else the next time.
Most others around us ordered mainly burgers, and those looked delicious!!
We would certainly not hesitate to return to BRG.
We could not use the DDE discount card. I overheard someone else ask about an AP discount. That answer was no also.
BRG offers a membership where patrons can pay $20, and get discounts, perks, and points, plus a $20 gift certificate.
We did not sign up for it, as I was allowed a Cast discount. But their program seems to be a very good deal. One of the perks is fotl seating.
It was very nice not to "have to have" ADRs to eat a decent meal when the time suited us.
