Late flight home

I will be staying at the Polynesian and our flight home isn't until 6pm. Is it possible to get a late check out time, say 3pm? Also, what should we do that last day? I think it will be too rushed to go to a park and plus I'd have to get another day of passes. I'm thinking pack and hang out at the pool, maybe walk around Downtown disney.

Any advice is appreciated.

Hi,

It's possible, but not likely, to get a late check out. But the Poly (or any other hotel) will store your bags for you until you are ready to go to the airport.

As for what to do on your last day...it looks like you have answered your own question! Personally, we have flown home many times at 6 or later and we squeeze another park day in...almost like a bonus day.

Enjoy your trip!

It usually costs about $5 to add on an extra day to the ticket. You bet I get those last few park hours in every year. :dance3:

It's a matter of getting up, bringing the luggage down to Bell Services, then usually hitting EPCOT for a few hours. It's get that last ride on Soarin' in, then hit the World Showcase early in the day. Finally it's grab a CS then head back to whichever hotel I'm staying at an hour or so before the ME pick-up.

We even did one year with an 8pm flight where we headed back to POFQ around 2 and lounged at the pool with drinks for a few hours. There's showers at the pools, so even with swimming there's a way to change and be comfy for the flight home.

We stay at the resort until the last minute, swimming.
Then we go to Downtown Disney, shop and eat at Wolfgang Puck express.
Then, back to the resor to load up on the ME.

If you are staying for more than 4 days I would say add on another day and have a great morning in the parks. It's really cheap to add an extra day once you are past the 4 day point. If not then I would spend the day at DTD or enjoying the pool.

Last year we got to the MK for early rope drop (TS Faye was due that day, so the parks opened early), got back to the Poly for checkout, then jumped back on the monorail for another 2 hours or so at the MK. We got our stuff from Bell Services and got on the DME bus at 4 pm.

We have asked for a late check out 2 times while staying at the Poly and both times it was granted for a check out time of 1pm. I think it really depends on what time of year you're going and how crowded the resort is.

As for adding an extra park day ticket, I would do this as well because the price is so low, unless you really just want to hang by the pool or DTD.

Have a great time and good luck with whatever you decided!

When we went back in October 07' we didn't think about the possibility of a Park on our last day. When we got back on our last park day we asked at the front desk if we could add on the depature day to our tickets and pay the difference. I guess we had just missed the cut off for adding another day but the CM gave us our last day free! :dance3:

So we headed out in the morning after packing everything and dropping it at the Luggage desk and had a few last magical hours at MK!

We leave at 5:30 on our next trip. I think we will go to DTD and get my shopping done that I did not have time to do . But we will most likely sit by the pool for a while first. We will have a car, so we can just put our luggage in the car. Now that I think about it we may try to go to the outlet stores.

Don't forget that if you're using ME they pick you up three hours before your flight, so you'll be leaving at 3pm. If you're packed and ready in the morning, think of all the other days you were up and gone to parks - lots of time to accomplish many attractions before 3pm. I would store your luggage with Bell Services and head out for as much last-minute fun as you can get - you're more than safe to head back to your resort between 2-2:30, pick-up your luggage and get on that dreaded bus to the airport.:sad2:

Thanks for all the responses. I added a day onto our passes for a whopping $3 person! I figured we can get another 5 hours in at a park that day.
