My dear friend.....
Just close your eyes and walk away, lol.....
Besides, I don't think this thread has much longer to live.....

How true...:thumbsup2 I really miss my "brick wall tag" on threads like this. If only Kimmie would apologize:rotfl:but that's a different topic.:upsidedow

This subject has been being "discussed" for a long time. Unfortunately you just jumped in, not knowing that this subject can cause people to get fairly hostile.

I will say it wasn't really Disney policy to accept Fast Passes late, they just did so to make people happy. But it is truly just splitting hairs. Disney used to accept them late, and did nothing to stop people from using them late. Now they don't accept them late. Not a policy change as much as enforcing a time constraint they used to not enforce.

Did you read any of the actual copies/verbiage that actual CMs shared here from their training manuals, in regard to the acceptance of late Fastpasses? I think written guidelines given to Disney CMs during their training could and does qualify as policy. Do the search, it's been shared on here many times.

I am not ignorant on the matter. I never said it wasn't their policy all I stated was my opinion which in this case clearly doesn't coincide with yours causing you to become rude on a disney discussion forum for seemingly no reason.
I was just saying that the return times seem to be there for a reason, if they weren't there it seems that it formerly wouldn't have made any difference except for the earliest time you could return
Also what I was thinking of was dream fastpasses, but my mistake in that you cannot buy them
Don't know how this thread turned so hostile:confused3

I'm no master expert on the matter, but looking back, it seems pre enforcement, taking in cms communicating to guests that they could return outside if the printed window in their ticket, and actually accepting FPs, the enforcement was more due to the incoming FP+ to manage crowd flow.
It's been said before, but if returning after the time printed on your ticket was such a problem, then Disney I'm sure would have brought out the time enforcement a long time ago.
When Disney started enforcing FP times, that's when (please correct me if I'm wrong) Disney started doing the FP+ test phases. Don't think they did any test phases before pre enforcement, I could be wrong there though.

Actually there was a PP who said 'he was guilty as the next guy as hoarding them and using them all at once' so I believe it was the correct term to be used. And I was just stating my opinion which apparently leads to being extremely flamed... kind of petty so I won't be returning to this thread anymore to read all posts stating how an opinion is "wrong"

Your "opinion" clearly shows you have a basic ignorance of why the Policy was to accept late Fastpasses. Using, or repeating, the words hoarding or cheating further negated your "opinion" on this subject and actually made your response seem to be the one that was petty and inflammatory. Read up on the subject, Google the original patent and intent of the Fastpass system and then come back with an educated response.

I really appreciate Disney creating the FastPass - it has been really nice to be able to avoid such lines as the long/hot/fairly uninteresting waiting line for Splash Mountain.

Thank you Disney.

When I get a FastPass, it tells me when I can use it. Very easy to understand. If anyone has a problem understanding what "use between 1:15 and 2:15" means, I am sure 99.99% of the guests and all the cast members will be able to explain it! If I choose to do something that may, even unexpectedly, cause me to be late, oh well.

Again, thanks Disney! I understand how it works and it makes my vacation that much more enjoyable.

And apparently you are ignorant and uneducated as to what constitutes official policy vs guest recovery methods.

I would suggest that YOU read up on the difference between the two and then come back with an educated response.

The guest should be efficient and prompt, but Disney gets a pass? The customer suffers the consequences, regardless..?

Ignorance continues to abound on this thread . . .

Disney CMs have previously shared on these threads copies of the company policy and how they were infact instructed to accept late Fastpasses. The policy had now changed and the CMs are instructed to no longer accept late Fastpasses.

Nope. You still havent demonstrated you understand the difference.

Please return when you dont post such ignorant and uneducated posts about FP and policy vs guest recovery

Okay, 411: he's seen your "ignorance" and raised you an "uneducated." (Redundancy be damned!)

It's laughable. He thinks he's a funny little smart a*s. If he had any real knowledge on the subject he would share it instead of repeating the same thing over and over.

Everyone who has followed this issue for years knows this was Disney POLICY for YEARS. They know that the verbage in the original Fastpass patent allowed for the acceptance of late Fastpasses, and a number of other scenarios. Everyone knows that the acceptance of late Fastpasses had no negligible affect on wait or return times. Everyone knows the whole point of Disney creating the Fastpass system was to keep guests in the restaurants and shops and spending their money, instead of in the long ride lines.

Where's DawgDad when you need him. His brother-in-law is a senior executive with the Disney parks and he has passed along quite a lot of info why it was Disney POLICY to accept late Fastpasses.

This has turned into another ridiculous Fastpass thread with the "holier-than-thous" chiming in about how people were abusing the system, how they are selfish and taking advantage of Disney, etc., when that isn't correct info and has nothing to do with Fastpass policy then or now.

Just to remind everyone of the DISboards rules:

4. NO FIGHTING/SARCASM
While we'd like to think that a Disney fan site is always lighthearted, there are times when there are disagreements. Let's face it, there are certain topics that can transform any of us into a raging "Donald Duck." When you sense this is happening, we ask that you step away from the discussion before it escalates into a fight. Just like Mom always said about fighting, we don't care who started the argument and we don't want it on the DIS. (Okay, she didn't say the part about the DIS, but you know what we mean.) No attacking others and no sarcasm please. Either will result in an infraction

The OP's question has been answered and this thread has deteriorated into impolite and unhelpful bickering. So I am closing it here.
