Late check out??

Does anyone know if the resorts offer a late check out? We're very excited about our 1st family vacation to Disney (staying at the POFQ) and want to enjoy every minute possible. Our flight home doesn't leave until 7PM, and DH wants to enjoy the pool, etc. Thanks for any help!

The only resorts we've ever been able to get a late check out is at the S/D. Never been able to get a late check out at ANY of the Disney owned resorts (and we're frequent Disneyers, although we stay at the S/D almost all the time now).

You can still hang around the resort and use the pool. There is a bathroom that you can change it by the pool.

Thanks for the info. I'm a little concerned though as I'm sure DH will want to shower after the pool. Plus we have a 4 yo and a 18 month old, so we'd be dragging clothes around for 4 of us.

We always get late checkout. If they're busy, it's usually just an extra hour. During low season, they'll often give you until 3:00. I'm pretty sure you can also pay for an extra 1/2 day (if they aren't completely booked).

As to your clothes, the bellhops can store them for you until it's time to leave. You could just pack a small bag w/ a change of clothes.

The 3:00 checkout was no charge. The 1/2 day charge runs until 6:00 I believe.

There is a limited amount of late checkouts that will be available. Late checkout is 1:00pm. After 1:00pm, there will be a charge of 50% of the room rate, and after 3:00pm, you will be charged the full room rate, since 3:00pm is Check-In time.

An option... you can still remain at the resort, and use the pools even after you check out. Bell Services will store your bags, and allow you access to them if needed. Also, if you need to change or shower, facilities are provided near the pool areas.

We've never gotten later than 1 PM without being told there would be a charge, and we're often there at quieter seasons. And some times it's not available at all (including the Swan/Dolphin if they're very busy). This is one thing that I truly wouldn't count on or expect.

I booked the Swan under the AP rate and it includes a one cat. upgrade and late check out 4 pm.

The 4pm checkout is not guaranteed. If the hotel is fully booked you won't get it.

You can ask when you check in but usually you have to call the day before you check out.

We got late checkout at the Poly in March during spring break. I don't know if the availability had anything to do with the fact that we were checking out on a Wed.?

We just got back from the poly and our last day, our flight was 7pm as well. I asked concierge if we could stay later than 11am and the young man seemed new. He checked the screen but couldn't tell when the new guests would be coming in. But our cleaning lady said no problem, she would come back and we could stay until 1:30. She said she tells the desk when the rooms are ready, so we could stay later. So, at 1:30 I called for my bags to be picked up and then the hotel held my luggage. My hubby went to the parks with the kids. My mom and brother went to MG and my daughter and myself swam in the pool and later laid under a cabanna and ate until 4:20pm. Then we used the bathroom in the upstairs level of the concierge lounge to change and freshen up. We grabed a quick drink from concierge and said Aloha.

I always call first thing in the morning on the day we check out.

I have stayed until 3:00 w/ no charge (YC--1995). Maybe I just had a nice CM?
