i was wondering what time i can get a late check out without getting charged. i know we can get a late checkout without getting charged but is there a time limit? i want to get a late checkout for us on our departure day because we're going to MNSSHP the night before. thanks guys for the help.

I have been an SPG member for a while and I know sometimes they offer check out at 4 pm for no charge.

If you're not an SPG member, join! I have only stayed at the S/D 3 times, so I am not a pro, but that was the deal we were offered.

Good luck!

i am an SPG member. being an SPG member makes a difference in getting a late check out? should i request the late check out when we check in so it's out of the way? thanks for your help lives4disney.

Tinkerbela,

I'm not sure about the Swan but I was at the Dolphin 8/27 - 9/1 and right after check-in I called downstairs and requested a 4pm check-out and was told it was no problem. It was entered into my folio and housekeeping didn't knock once on check-out day!!

We had an 8:30pm flight so it was great to have our room for the day. :cool1:

After check out we sat on a bench on the Boardwalk and soaked up the beautiful weather and atmoshere before heading to Kimono's for a final meal of sushi & tempura!! princess: It was wonderful.

Just ask at check-in and if they aren't booked up, they will probably accommodate you.

Good luck and have a great time :wave2:

Tinkerbela - I booked some online SPG specials that included the late checkouts. I think the late check out IS a priviledge reserved for SPG members. Thought I had read that somewhere. I am sorry I don't have more definite info. I think I would call the S/D and make a plan for a late check out so it is secured for you & you don't have any worries! :wizard:

Good luck!

A lot depends... They give it to SPG "as avaiable" so if a huge convention is coming in you may not get one or you may get a 1 PM late checkout...

1) Call to make sure it is available *
2) If too busy, you might be able to extend past 11:00am *
3) Costs are
. . . Checkout to 1:00pm - free
. . . Checkout 1:00pm-3:00pm 50% of your room rate plus tax
. . . Checkout after 3:00pm full room rate plus tax
4) Always ask for a manager, as these charges can be negotiable *

* based upon occupancy that day

thank you guys so much for the help. i really do appreciate it.

Wow, I just asked and received a complimentary 4PM checkout!!

I didn't know how lucky I was! :wizard: I thought they gave this to SPG when it was available.

i really hope we get a late checkout, preferably 4 pm, so we can recover from MNSSHP and have plenty of time to pack. i have nothing planned for us on our departure date so i'm just hoping that i get a late check out.

We've received late checkout several times at the Dolphin, but the one time we stayed at the Swan we were told it wasn't possible. The literature does say 'if available'.

We are spg members and requested a 2PM check out in early June on a Monday (Swan) - they would only give us until 1PM because there was a huge convention checking in - we left the room a little after 1 and walked over to the Dolphin for one last ice cream before leaving for the airport. Hoping for a late Sunday check out this trip so we have somewhere to wait until our BWV room is ready.

I usually have no trouble getting 1:00pm checkouts, even when there is a convention booked....the 4:00pm check out seems to be a little tougher to snag, but we travel in October, the "big mac daddy" convention month :)

Before I had any sort of knowledge of the SPG program, we were offered a late checkout at 2:00pm for $40. It was worth it at the time....if only I had known about the SPG then, LOL!

well, we'll be there in two weeks, before the conventions and all, so i'm hoping to have a late check out. preferably at 4. that would be great.
