Late check ins at Beach Club Villas

Yes, we had heard they had changed things at DL. We couldn't get our park admission added to our room key and we couldn't use the room key for charging (they gave us a paper slip with that information on it). DL has finally met up with WDW I think.

Still can't put park admission on room keys, but charging to the room worked fine.

Wow, I guess we've been really lucky. We've only stayed at BCV once, but every time we go to any DVC resort we always arrive around 11am, go to check in but the room isn't ready of course, go to lunch and get a call/text that the room is ready before lunch is over. On our last trip, the creepy people who stand by the entrance of VWL with the ipads and address you by family name said our room was ready but the CM at the check in desk said it wasn't, so she walked down the hall to check on it and mousekeeping was putting the final touches on.

We have had late room readies after 5 at all of the resorts. Between 3 and 4 is the most common, at SSR our latest was 7:30 and they had to finish cleaning it while we were there. Doesn't seem to matter when we check in, I will sometimes check in at 7 AM thinking that we will get an early room but that doesn't seem to matter. One of the major factors is the number of rooms in your category matching your requests and the day of the week. Bill

I'm come to the conclusion that 7am is NOT the best time to checkin. We've tried it on several occasions with no luck. Housekeeping hasn't had time to clean anything and you don't get pit on any kind of list.

I think you are much more likely to get a ready room between 11am and 1pm.

We have has this experience every time when we check in between 11 and 1 pm

At Grand Californian we could not get into Villas until 5:30pm which I think is unacceptable. I called & confirmed it was ready at 5:30 and did not get the text we requested until 30 minutes after that - that makes me even more annoyed. I think the customer service there was the weakest of all the DVCs.

My comments were meant for DVC resorts in general. We have only stayed at BCV once and did not check in at 7am.

I still think you get into your room quicker if you check in mid-day.
