We have a BW view studio for 2/4 - 2/11. When I booked my airfare it was cheaper to go down the night before. Since we didn't have pts at the time we decided to do one standard view cash night, then check out of that room and check-in to our Boardwalk View room the next morning. We now have pts available that I can add that night onto our Boardwalk view ressie BUT - I am concerned about getting a "crappy" "Boardwalk View" as we don't check-in till around 11pm that night. Will I be better off sticking with my one cash night and checking out of that room and checking into my BW view room early the next morning like originally planned or should I just take my chances on getting a "good" room that late at night?

The reason I ask is that I really want a great Epcot view like we had last time but I was told that some BW View rooms do not have Epcot views. (Where ARE these rooms if that is the case)

THANKS!

I have checked in late at night in the past and have received some pretty good rooms.

In my opinion I would take the 1 night cash ressie and if you get the room you want ask MS to keep you in that room. If you dont like it I would def get up as early as possible and check in and ask MS for a better room location.

Have you asked for upper floor room Boardwalk view? If not I would call and request.... no guarantees but at least MS will see it on the ressie.

My cash ressie is for standard view - my pts ressie is for Bowrdwalk View.

Why should I request upperfloor? - is that how I will get an Epcot view? Last time we were on the 5th floor I believe - Never thought that lower floors wouldn't have the same view... :)

IMHO, there are no "crappy" BW views. And no guarantee that you will get your requests even if you check in early. In my experience, BWV still pretty much pre assigns rooms anyway.

If you think the chances of getting a "non-crappy" room are better if you check in early and the view is more important than having to move, keep the cash reservation. If it were me, I'd try to stay in the same room for the entire trip (but then, I don't think "crappy" and Boardwalk view go together, either, LOL).

Best wishes -

p.s. If you don't already have the PV -Boardwalk view reservation for that first night, it may not even be available at this point.

We stayed in a studio at BWV in early Oct. last year. We had reserved a preferred (but not BW) view. We checked in at 11:00 PM on a Friday night and when we got to the room we were stunned to see that we had a fabulous BW view room. So, checking in late at night might not be a bad thing. It certainly wasn't a bad thing for us!

Thanks all - I cancelled my cash ressie standard room and tagged on an extra BW view night to the beginning of my trip. Also asked for higher floor. Hopefully we'll get a fantastic room like we did last time :)

IMHO thats debatable, really depending on how one defines "crappy." The BW "view" villas that overlook the town square lawn area have a much more limited view of the Boarwalk and Epcot fireworks than the ones that directly face the Boardwalk. Overall, the BW best views are from the villas at the Jellyrolls end of the resort (we were in the last BW view villa at that end on the 4th floor during our August stay, and the view was absolutely fantastic!!!!)
