Late check-in at Vero

Just returned from a trip to Vero. Had a good time however our 1 bed room unit was not available until 4:30pm and when we finally checked in we found caked-on pizza on the coffee table in the living room, splattered food and liquid stains on the side of the island in the kitchen and unidentified material on the bathroom wall. Whoever cleaned it must have done so with their eyes closed. Definitely not up to Disney standards that we are used to.
We complained, got apologies and someone came to clean up - again. Definitely did not appreciate the hassle after a day of traveling. On the positive side the Green Cabin Room waiter "Doug" was great and balanced off the bad room cleaning experience.

Hmmm...I was at Vero just a bit ago and was less than impressed with the cleanliness of the one bedroom vacation home. Wonder if it is becoming a trend this shoddy cleaning? :(

Personally, I believe that a staff manager should check each room after the cleaning crew has finished. It is obvious to me that there is insufficient staff on duty if rooms are not ready by at least 4pm and there is absolutley no reason for an poor room cleaning job. 4pm is late enough for check-in and if DVC can't get you into your room by then there is a need for either additional staffing or a change in personnel. If you cancel too late in your reservation you are penalized. I think DVC should return a small amount of your points if they can't hold up their end of the contract.
