Late check in at OKW??

We will be arriving around 11:00 p.m. with two little girls who will be a bit crabby after our 3 hour trip to the airport, 2 hour flight and then ME to OKW. (Thank goodness I will sooo excited to be at WDW...otherwise I would never attempt something like this!! )

Should we call the resort to let them know we are checking in late?

How are you transferred to your room? I would hate to have a long walk that late at night.

We have requested to be close to HH. Do you think this will be much harder to get since we are checking in so late (on a Thursday evening)?

If we do not get close to the HH....is there an area nearby with a quiet pool and not a very long walk to HH or main pool??

If you're using DME, they probably know you're checking in late, but it couldn't hurt to call anyway.

Bell services will be happy to give you a lift to your room.

The HH area is very popular for people without cars, so I wouldn't count on getting a room in that area with a late check-in, but you never know. Hope for the best.

Your best bet is to tell the CM at check-in your room preferences. They'll usually let you know what is available and let you choose the area you want.

The only issue might be that the bell folks are not there 24 hours a day. I think that changed recently. I would for sure call the resort to let them know you will be arriving late, and then inquire about the availability of someone to take you to the room.

My first ever check in at OKW was at around midnight. It's the ONLY time I have had a room close to the HH. LOL!

We checked in at 1:00 a.m. last Spring Break.

I had asked for close to HH.

We had building 23 (a family favorite). Not much of a view from the studio balcony, but we love the area.

We've checked in several times at OKW around midnight. I always called the resort to let them know. We never had a problem getting a room request but we never asked for near HH. Enjoy yourselves.

Thanks for all the info....makes me feel better about checking in late. I have not read a lot about buildings 17-20. It looks like 19 and 20 will be close to a quiet pool. Anyone know if they have pool view or water view?? It looks like they are not too far from HH.
