What has been your experience arriving late to MCO?

The flight I am looking at lands at 9:30. We've always arrived early morning/afternoon so I am not sure what to expect regarding our luggage getting to us that night, etc.

The same guideline applies: Your bags should get to your room within 3 hours of when you can. A near worst case is 4 hours.

Exception: Pop Century, Art of Animation and All Stars do not have room delivery after 10 PM, although the bags should be at Bell Services in the main building within the abovementioned timeframes. Delivery resumes around 7 AM.

We have arrived late, but much later than your flight, and the time to get to the resort was double because we had to sit there for so long to wait for the bus to fill up more before they would take off for the resorts.

You can expect delivery of your luggage to your room 3-4 hrs after resort check-in. So...if your flight arrives at 9:30, it will be 9:45 before you are off the plane. The average time, from gate to resort, is about 75 mins. But later in the evening times can be much longer. I would plan on it taking at least 90 mins. So, that gets you to your resort around 11:15ish. Your bags could be brought to your room anytime between midnight and 3am!!
The value resorts don't have luggage services between 10pm and 7am. The moderates have service, but it gets slow at that time of night. The deluxes are much better.
I would actually recommend not tagging your bags and going to baggage claim and getting them yourselves when you get to MCO. Bring them to the bus with you...be sure to tip the bus driver. Then you'll have them when you arrive at the resort and you'll be able to get settled in immediately.

Get your bags at the airport

We usually get in around 11:30pm or so. I believe the bags only get moved "magically" until 10pm? We've never had the service due to our late arrival.

Never bothered us to take our own bags.

It has taken anywhere between 5 mins to 20 mins for the bus to get moving (they only move once it is somewhat full). Sometimes we wait in line, sometimes we wait on the bus. I imagine buses move swifter in the day with more flights arriving? I actually prefer it when the bus has just pulled away because it means I can get front row on the next bus. I don't mind sitting in the bus waiting for it to fill as we prefer being in front.

Check in lines are often long for us, even at that time of the night (at Pop). Oh well - we're in Disney and we're usually super excited so adrenaline keeps us going.

The one trip we stayed offsite, car rental lines at midnight were ridiculous. Lines were taking nearly an hour :(

Our flight is scheduled to arrive 8:55pm. Staying at Pop. Is there a chance we will get our bags that night? Or not until next day?

At that time of day/night, I wouldn't tag my bags. I would plan on getting them myself. I love Pop, but I have had the worst luggage delivery service there. The issue would be that even if your flight is onetime, and your tagged bags are gathered by DME luggage people at MCO, by the time it gets to Pop, luggage service may very well be done for the night.

Thanks - I think we'll plan on getting them ourselves.
