My group of three will arrive at Epcot around 1 pm. We hope to do Soarin, Test Track and Mission Space followed by drinks around the world. It will be Friday, Jan 16...MLK weekend. My buddies first choice is Test Track but I got FP+ for Soarin instead...

What are your thoughts on the Single Rider Line at Test Track on a Friday afternoon of MLK weekend?

When we were there for Columbus Day week the single rider line was typically 20 to 30 minutes. If you skip designing your vehicle, it goes even faster.

I thought you didn't really get to design your vehicle in single rider. Isn't it just choosing a general one or something? I'm trying to remember because we did both FP and single rider and I remember them being very different.

Labor Day weekend the single rider was never less than 30 minutes....but the main line was up in the 1 1/2 to 2 hour wait so it was definitely better to do single rider.

As a comparison, Soarin' was 2 hours almost always that weekend.

So, since Soarin' does NOT have a single rider option, getting a FP for Soarin makes more sense.

Another good time to do standby for either ride is when Illuminations starts....so many are watching the show the lines go down dramatically even on holiday weekends.

Single rider at Test Track does NOT design a car....there are a bunch of generic ones from which you choose. If you want to do all the options of choosing your design you have to do the main line, so either standby or FP.

Ah sorry okay I guess that makes sense why my friend didn't design his vehicle when I asked. I thought he just skipped it, but he really was in and out in less than 30 minutes and that was Columbus Day weekend. Not sure about MLK weekend but I imagine crowd wise it might be similar.

It'll be busy.

Be patient.

I agree with this.

One other option is to book your Soarin' FP for as early as you feel comfortable (so, if you are getting to the park at 1:00, maybe make it for 1:15-2:25) and use your other two fast passes as "throw away" fast passes. In other words, book Imagination at 9:00 and The Seas with Nemo and Friends for 10:00. That way, as soon as you finish Soarin', you can go to the kiosk and try to get a pass for Test Track. Otherwise, single rider will be your best option, but it won't be a walk on.
