I am 39 years old and I really think I need to get on a good skincare regimen. I have been using the Clinique 3 step for awhile, but I think it is time to call in the big guns. My skin is not bad, but it seems dull and maybe a little bit dry. I do have a few lines, but it isn't too bad. I have been very diligent with sunscreen since my mid 20's.

Still, I feel like I want to try to brighten it up some, and get rid of some of those lines (well, I know I can't get rid of them, but I would like to make them less obvious.)

So what do y'all use? I also have pretty sensitive skin. I don't break out with acne, but I do get blotchy and red when I use products my skin doesn't like.

Thanks!

I'm 41 and have been using the Clinique 3-step for a couple years now. On Tuesday, the cashier at BJs told me I had a wonderful complexion...out of the blue. They have all different skincare products...maybe you just need to switch it up.

I have sensitive skin too. I use sun screen, a mild cleanser, and mild moisturizers. I started using Aveeno Positively Radiant moisturizing lotion at night. I love it!

Clinique all the way. In fact I'm giving myself a facial mask as we speak (type)!:goodvibes

I have been using Oil of Olay since I have been in my twenties....I don't think I look 45:confused3 maybe it's just wishful thinking:rotfl:

Maybe - do you use any of the anti-aging stuff?

Mid 30s here, but I switched from Clinique to Dermalogica. Wow, I can really tell a difference. $$$, but if you have some skin issues (like me), worth every dime IMHO. :thumbsup2

I am 38 and now have the complexion of a 17 year old...and I don't mean that in a positive way. I have more acne now than I ever did as a teen. I use Proactive and it worked well for the first few years but now is not so great. I use Oil of Olay products too for my lines around eyes etc. Still need help for the acne though

I am 38 and started using Philosophy products about a month ago and I've seen a nice change in my skin. It's a bit pricey but I think I'm going to stick with it - I'm liking the results. The "Makeup Optional" kit was my starting point and it's lasting longer than I expected. :thumbsup2

I usually just use the foaming facial cleanser, the clarifyer and the gel moisturizer, but I also have the day repairwear intensive, night repairwear intensive, and some eye stuff. I rarely remember to use it though. I don't think I have any specific anti-aging stuff, but the repairwear stuff may be.

Do you drink a lot of water? I really believe that helps.

Clinique just revamped their acne line and it's really good. You should give it a shot. I have heard, I've never used it so I don't know, that people can only use proactive for so long then it tends to either start drying the heck out of their skin or it just stops working. Again, I have never used it, that's just what I've heard. Good luck!

I'm lucky to have worked in spas and have had access to some really great skin care lines. My favorite is Decleor. I use the cleansing milk, tonifying lotion, and harmonie cream. The three come out to about $120, which isn't too bad relatively speaking.

Have you ever had a facial? It might be a good idea to have an esthetician check your skin and reccommend some products for you.

I was actually thinking the same thing. I figured maybe it is time to try something new. Thanks for the recommendation. I may check out the Clinique counter the next time I am at the mall!

I'm actually in my mid-40's, but I've been using the same regimen for about seven years, and it seems to be fending off the worst of it so far.

My skin is very dry, and I have mild Rosacea. I use the Jurlique Ultra-Sensitive Skin line. In the morning I wash with the facial wash, then use the Chamomile Toner (very soothing if your skin is dry!), and the Day Care Face Cream.

At night I wash again with the facial wash, then use the Chamomile toner, then use the Wrinkle-Free cream--it's very light and perfect for overnight.

Once a week I use the Face Wash Cream instead of the Facial wash. It's got a very light exfoliant in it, and that helps your skin "glow." Once a month I use the Ultra-Sensitive Nurturing Mask.

Since I've begun this regimen my Rosacea is all but gone, and I've fended off most of the lines--the only place I can't seem to keep them away is between my eyes and on my forhead because I tend to squint/wrinkle my forhead--it's not a vision thing, it's just a long ago acquired bad habit that I do so subconsciously that I'm having a hard time breaking. That's why I wear bangs. :rotfl:

Jurlique is on the expensive side, but it's really concentrated and I've found that it lasts about double what most department store or pharmacy brands would, so it works out to being only a few dollars a year more expensive--I can live with that. :goodvibes
