Well, it depends on your skin type and your needs.
I was cursed with bad acne as a teen. Even if I grew up in Hawaii, I never was a tanner and I managed to stay out of the sun a lot. All you young ladies out there - the sun is one of the biggest aging culprit besides smoking etc.
I just make sure to use sunscreen every day, drink plenty of water, use a powder foundation with sunscreen (Bare Minerals didn't work for me), and to do a morning and night routine. I mix up what I use so the skin doesn't get used to one thing and just to change things a bit. I do try to keep it natural, but it's not always easy.
One sample morning routine is to use a mild skin cleanser like Cetaphil or its
Walmart knockoff. Then I moisturize, dry, and then apply sunscreen. Then I apply powder foundation. Later that night I will wash my face with the same cleanser then I will apply a moisturizer like RoC or L'Oreal with vitamin C.
I have used Dr Bronner's castile soap as a face wash, too. I also like Kiss My Face products and just a natural bar of olive oil soap. I have also used Paula Begoun's products which are good:
www.cosmeticscop.com
That site is great because she also rates products and gives suggestions on what would be good for your particular skin type and needs. Of course, it does seem like it's a bit of a conflict of interest because she does sell her own products.
I also make my own natural toiletries, such as an exfoliant using table salt and face masks using natural stuff, like herbs, olive oil, oatmeal, etc...there are alot of recipes out there.
BTW I'm 40 and I don't have wrinkles - yet. See my avatar? My skin is still very firm and I am actually very, very fair. That was taken during the summer and even if I reapply and reapply sunscreen I tan very, very easily (probably because of my heritage - who knows lol).
