Anyone added on from DCL recently? Just curious what the incentives were. We are adding on now and are debating just doing a small add on for now then another one in September when we cruise on the DREAM. I know the incentives will change by then but wanted to compare them with the land incentives now.

Thanks!

For add-ons it was both a credit for AKL, BLT and Aluani, backdated points and 18 VIP Fastpasses. At 50 points, I believe it was $5 or so, at 300+ it went down $20 a point. In addition at 200+ points, you got a $500 stateroom credit.

Wow. Hope the deals are that good in September for our next add-on!

Thanks so much for the info. Hope you enjoyed your cruise!

Just to add---it was $500 onboard credit or $500 prepaid Visa gift card depending on your level of purchase. The incentives were only good for AKV, BLT and Aulani.

SSR prices are listed at $99, no incentives.

We were on the May 5-May 8 Dream.

They gave you backdated Aulani points? Owners at Aulani do not receive points till the 2012 use year. Are they giving you developer points? thank you

Don't you mean 2011? The resort opens in a few months. I've already made a reservation using points from my Dec 2011 use year.

I don't think this is true. I didn't see anything on the sheet re backdated points. The PP must have been referring to AKV or BLT.

If you have a use year that has already passed, I would think you don't get Aulani points until 2012, but if you have a 2011 use year that starts after the resort opens, you would get 2011 points. The webcast offer from this week sounds better as there is a VISA gift card of $700 on a 200 point purchase, and $500 at a 150 point purchase and the discount might be more too. I would be interested if any cruisers from this week received a different offer.

You made reservations using Aulani points? The expiration of Aulani owners is in 2062 hence the points do not start for Aulani owners until 2012. I made reservations using Aulani points but I had to borrow from my 2012 use year since I made them 10 months in advance. thanks

Wow -- I am cruising again in July and we are seriously considering adding on and this is a great incentive to do so. That $500 stateroom credit will pay for my CC Cabana! Plus we are needing extra points to pay for our 2 weeks in Hawaii next summer (spread out between two to three islands).

I will let DH know about this since he won't be with me when I am on this cruise, I will need a power of attorney in order to do this.

I think I know the answer, but have to ask anyway:

Is the on board credit applicable to Disney Gift cards? (which we could turn around and pay dues on the add-on with?)

Hi, all. We've been DVC members since 1993 and just got back from the 5/3-5/10 Alaskan cruise.

While on the ship, we added on at Aulani. Got the contracts last Friday.

Then we watched the video on Tuesday and saw the incentives were better than what we had been offered on the cruise. So I called and they are rewriting the contracts with the better terms.

I wonder how many others who added on on that cruise were in the same position, and whether the incentives on the current cruise are better now that they released the video.

Our UY is June, and we got the points. However, since Aulani won't open until, essentially, September, we can't USE the points until after the opening date.

So for our next trip, which is already booked for January 2012, I'm planning on using the Aulani points to upgrade our room. I can call MS at the 7 month window, which is in June, and can make the reservation for January using those points since the trip will be after Aulani opens.

On the cruise, they were also offering us 2010 points for the BLT. So had we added on there (which we didn't) we would have gotten, basically, points for the 2010 UY as well as the 2011 upcoming year. Not sure if that worked because of our June UY or if it was available to any UY.

You would have received 2010 points because you're still in your June 2010 UY.

This is all brand new to me, and I'm still trying to understand it all, but we finally broke down and bought in to DVC while on our June 7-14th Disney Alaskan cruise. Here is what they offered us: the minimum number of points we could buy was 160, and they dropped the offered price by $10 per point, 220 points or more got you an additional $14 dollars off per point, and 320 points or more got you $16 off per point. If you bought, you received points from the previous year. For example, we received the same number of points we purchased and have to bank them by July 31st because our UY is December. In addition to this, we received a $500 on board credit. We weren't given an option of where our home resort would be. The offer was for BLT. I'm hoping this was a good deal. I hadn't researched the incentives beforehand because I never even thought we would look in to it. We looked in to DVC years ago while on a cruise, but the timing just wasn't right then. Looking forward to traveling with DVC and cannot wait to make our first ressie!:thumbsup2
