Last Year For Aladdin.

We have really enjoyed the Aladdin show, but have also been waiting for something new. I hope the news is true. :)

I LOVE the Aladdin show, but I agree it is time for something new...but Toy Story? Blech. I love this movie, but I am a little sick of it in the parks, I think it has enough right now. It doesn't have the music that would make a great show....Can we se some HERCULES! Although Hercules wasn't my favorite movie, I think a broadway style show would be fantastic.

Hercules would make and AWESOME stage show! I'm thinking Tarzan has good potential too.

Okay...I would settle for Tarzan :goodvibes Hercules or Tarzan would both be awesome. The old Tarzan show in the Animal Kingdom was pretty cute, I am sure they could but together something pretty neat with Tarzan swinging from the vines instead of the flying carpet...they would need a lot of gorilla costumes!

To be honest, I don't think the next show will be from Tarzan or Hercules. While they may make good shows, the films are not as well known as some others. I think Nemo or something else altogether is more likely, especially since a 2010-2011 new show may be something like a movie that hasn't been released yet.

Oh I 100% agree that it is unlikey... I am just dreaming :genie: I am just a little Pixar-ed out lately.

i for some reason dont love the pixtar movies as much i never saw cars till we were in the hotle in nov. nemos ok but i dodnt think a play would be good..idk i want something disney like lion king was or butey and the beast and now aladin (those are the thre eive seen in Dinsyland when was younger. I hope its sleeping butey hehe my family would love that. or something else more disney

Sleeping Beauty doesn't really lend itself to a musical since it has no show stopping musical numbers like Aladdin or Lion Kings. It would work as a stage show, but if they were to do it, I think they would have done something for the 50th anniversary which is next year and would have announced it by now.

I've heard really good reviews about the Nemo musical in AK.

the 50th anivesiry is next year? oh and ya thats true not to many songs.. i have ehard about a nemo one in wdw it might be the same. idk i wish theyd tell us whta it was lol

Oh My. I have only seen Alladin once, this past February, and I am so hoping to catch it one more time before it's gone. I'd love for my folks to get to see it too when we go in Novemeber or December. I hope it's still going then!

Tarzan is already a musical. The touring version is debuting in Atlanta in Jan 2009. I think that Disney should put in something that can only be seen in DLR. That way it is 'special"

Yep, Sleeping Beauty was released in 1959. I know of two rumors about attractions in the parks for the 50th anniversary of the film. One is an exhibit in the animation building over in DCA like they did last year for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and the second is a reopening of the castle walkthrough.

My guess is that it may be too early to know what's going to replace Aladdin when that time comes.

I think of all the famous people I could meet at the parks, he would be my #1. I just love Pixar and their films, and even though I never much enjoyed earning a wage, I'd be the lowest of the low Pixar employee if we ever moved near their offices. :goodvibes

So no one posted about the new Al Lutz update yesterday, but I thought they mentioned that Aladdin was lasting for a few years longer. Interesting, the different stories!

My husband met John Lassiter on one of our trips last year. We saw him and his family one night near Indy, and the next day we saw him over by Monsters Inc. So he went over and talked to him in DCA. He was very nice, and very surprised that we recognized him. The funny thing is that we had just seen him on Dinner Impossible on the Food Network about a week before, so that's how we recognized him!

I was initially surprised to hear that because they have auditions scheduled for it at the end of July in New York. It doesn't say how long the contract would be, but my guess is that the show will probably continue at least past New Year's (a full 6 months) and then for as long as it takes to figure out a new show. When I saw the show, I liked how Genie told jokes for all different age groups (the MySpace joke was hilarious, but 3/4 of the audience probably didn't get it at all).

Okay I looked it up. The fellow on the cruise was Michael Williams, Director of Entertainment Services, Disneyland Resort, Disneyland Entertainment.

What I went to:

"An Inside Look. Learn now Disneyland Entertainment works closely with the Disneyland Resort and the Walt Disney Company, to provide the world-class entertainment you experience everyday."

He said that this was the last year for Aladdin. When that year ends exactly, I don't know.

He was a really interesting speaker and very nice. His family was also on the cruise, and my dh and I spent some time after the presentation talking to them.

I'll be sad to see Aladdin go... but it would be nice to see something new as well. I am really hoping it is a unique musical, not something already seen on a cruise ship or in WDW. I think Disney would be smart to keep something in DCA that can only be found there, as a draw to the park while they are undergoing the re-vamping of DCA.

I too would like to see something that you cant see at WDW, DCL, or even on the broadway shows. While I would love to see Tarzan or the Lion King, I would prefer something unique to DL.

What shows are on DCL?

And what shows at WDW? I know there is Nemo, I know there was a Tarzan at one point but dont know if it is still there, as with Lion King.

Broadway shows now are what? Lion King, Little Mermaid, Tarzan, Mary Poppins, and I know there is 1 more I cant think of....

Beauty and the Beast would be nice, but I am guessing that is on DCL.

Mulan could work.... Being this year (actually today) is the 10th anniversary of Mulan.

does anyone remember what was showing in the place where the princess fair is now in Disneyland? I thought it was Tarzan but im not sure. anyone know?

I think it is the best show that DL or DW has! I am very sad to hear it will be leaving. We have enjoyed seeing it many times, and it was amazing every single time! Broadway quality!
