Last Wk Sept or 1st Wk Oct?

A little help please - better to go the last week in September or the first week in October? Are there school breaks during 1st week in Oct.?

No holidays during those two weeks in the US that I can think of.... Columbus Day causes quite a crowd but that's about half way through the month of October. We are actually planning our trip for the last week in Sept, coming home on Sept 30th. If it matters to you - the only thing that I found a benefit for the 1st week in October is the fact that the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party starts on Sept 30th, so we're actually missing it. I don't know if I would've planned my trip around it anyway, but it might have been neat to see what the fuss is all about! Good luck with your decision! Also - I don't think one week will make a diff in weather, but isn't Sept generally wetter?

Keep in mind that September is value season and October is regular season. Could be a savings for you if you manage to book the beginning of your trip while still in value season. Not sure of the exact date of end/start. So keep that in mind if you do the beginning of October. Also, the codes tend to split around that time too. I imagine if your reservation starts with a code, it may run the entire stay.

my favorite time of the year is end of sept/early oct.

value season ends on oct 4 this year.
i booked for sept 28 thru oct 10.

i will get to hit mnsshp and food and wine festival.
columbus day is the second monday in oct.
that is the only date in my time period where it will be crowded.

another great thing in going during my time period is the parks of mgm and mk are open till 8 ususally. it is after columbus day they cut back on the hours by 30-60 minutes.

either way you choose, end of sept or early oct up to columbus day, you can't lose.
