Hi guys, not posted her for a while, but with post-christmas blues, felt I needed a new Disney surge...

I see and hear that Tarzan Rocks closes this weekend after a run going back 6, nearly 7 years and felt we all might like to record our memories? I'll kick off.

First saw it in '99, before the film was released in the UK - I didn't even know that Phil Collins had done the music. Liked the rock style of the show, but the content and theme of the songs went over my head.

By 2001 and our next visit, we knew all the above and were blown away - great songs, high energy and a good cast. Our hands clapped 'til they were sore.

Regretably by 2003, the gloss had gone, the cast had changed and the allure had gone too. Didn't even bother seeing the show last year whereas we consider Festival of the Lion King still to be a "don't miss".

That's my 10c, what do you say? ::MickeyMo

We have seen this once, it was good, but not enough to go back again. I think the one at DLP was a bit better. I look forward to finding out what is going in there next . :)

I saw it in 1999 and loved it, I like the way it felt like a concert. I saw it again in 2001 and still loved it! I saw it last year, it was still great but it was different singers this time and I didnt think they were as good, also the skaters didnt seem to do as much. Regardless of this I still think its a shame that it is going. :sad2:

Did you hear about the accident that happened last week at the show?

Interesting what you say... We've never seen the DLP one as it was Christmas when we went last to Paris and they had Winter Wonderland in there.

Is it/was it mixed language? Do I recall that Phil Collins sings/speaks many languages, inc. French?

The Paris one was okay - I enjoyed seeing both shows once but that is enough. I'm not that sad to see it go to be honest....

By all accounts they are putting some form of Nemo show in there but haven't heard anything about how long it will be until it is open.....

I read about the accident last week - I think there was a technical problem - thankfully Tarzan was okay and I heard they simply changed a part of the show rather than fix the problem as they only have a few shows left.

I am not sorry that it is coming off to make way for a new show, but always watched it when I went to the Animal Kingdom. My enjoyment seemed to vary with how much I was 'up' for it, LOL!

I also saw the Paris show several times and don't think they compare as they were so very different. The DLP was very European and tres charmant! I liked the way they had the children join in with pots and pans for Trashin' the Camp!

The first number in Paris Phil Collins sung in a mix of several different languages - the rest I remember was in English.

I wasn't crazy about this show, so hopefully they will put in something better.

However, I am going to see Tarzan on Broadway this may.

They are enclosing the arena, aren't they? That should be an improvement!

I am looking forward toi seeing what goes in to replace this show. I think this was probably my least favourite of all the many shows at WDW so I'm not too sad to see it go.

Im glad to see it go. It was such a poor show. Heres hoping for something much better.

Seen it once and not impressed, looking forward to see the new show, hoping there is a major improvement :)

Claire ;)

Am I the only one to like this show? I thought it was great and am sorry that I will not be able to see it again.

We LOVED Tarzan Rocks and are very sad to see it go...
this past summer we must have seen it about 12 times....twice in July, about 4 times in August and a good 6 times in September.....

the only part of the show we hated was that stupid gorilla, what's her name...possibly because we can't stand rosie o'donnel (sp?).....but the rest of it made up for her...

we always stayed until the very end, until the band completely finishes (they keep playing while the audience files out...)...
there were several different musicians for each position in the band, but they were all good....as were the singers...
the singers at Tarzan Rocks were consistently good....whereas, the singers in Festival of the Lion King have gone down in quality since it first debuted...this past summer, out of all the times we saw Festival of the Lion King, only once were all 4 singers of the quality they should be....

but getting back to Tarzan, we're going to miss it....supposedly they're going to enclose that stage (the way they enclosed the Festival of the Lion King) so that it will be air conditioned and you won't have to sweat to death in the summer anymore...and then supposedly there'll be a new production there...

First time I saw it back in 2003 I quite enjoyed it. Although the lead singer's teech were so white that you needed sunglasses to watch him LOL

We saw it again in December and didn't think much to it. It lacked something, but I couldn't really say what it was.
I also think it was always going to be second best to the Lion King show in AK.

I loved the show and will miss it :( Looking forward to hearing about a replacement though.

Its going to be a Nemo show isnt it??? :confused3

that's the rumor i heard.....i can't understand why they would do that....what kind of music does Finding Nemo have?....it's not one of the music movies....and they already have Nemo in the Living Seas in Epcot...

Tarzan was appropriate for AK....as is the Lion King......

The Law of Murphy!

We didn't get to see this when we went to the Animal Kingdom last time, so it was on our list of things to do this year. :sail:

Looks like extra rides on Everest then. :woohoo:

:sad1: oh my god!! i absolutley LOVE tarzan rocks and i cant believe its going today so sad :sad1: .
