Well, here we are planning our next Food & Wine Festival trip. I know this is early, but planning is planning! ;)

A couple of questions came to mind...

1. Party for the Senses is only on Saturdays, correct? Do they ever do one the last week of the festival?

2. Has anybody ever gone to Food & Wine during its last week? Did you notice any differences? Less offerings or events?

Yes, there is usually a PFTS the last Saturday.

The only thing we have noticed is that sometimes some of the wines have run out before the end of the festival.

Other than that, there is never any telling what will be offered event/booth/entertainment wise. All I can say, is go and enjoy!

The last week of F&WF is VERY busy. I didn't feel I missed out on anything but the crowds were pretty bad. Some of the F&WF merchandise was also on the lean side. The crowds weren't as bad during the week days, but much busier than the other weeks I've been to F&WF.

I think because it's the last week all the FL residents who have not gone all go & plus it's Jersey week.

Any time you're at F&W is good! We were there the last two days this year and had a great time!

We have been to the festival for 4 years in a row --- we usually head out in October --- usually the weekened prior Halloween. This upcoming 2009 trip, we'll be doing the last weekend. We thought we would 'switch' it up - because it seems like the chefs / additional offerings have a different lineup at the end of the festival. Now -- that being said, who knows what they will do for 2009. The offering in 2008 was on the lean side - in terms of signature events / pairings... hopefully 2009 will see a better assortment, and not a cutback on activities as was the case this past year. All you can do at this juncture, is pick a date(s), get your hotel -- and look forward to enjoying the festival. No matter what, it is a great time. Also - the previous poster is correct, there has always been a PFTS the last Saturday of the weekend. In 2008 -- I believe the *only* Saturday PFTS did not occur - was the very first opening weekend. It would be silly (IMO) for them not to close out the last Saturday with the most popular venue. If they do --- we'll go to V&As twice :goodvibes

If it makes any difference - last year the only two signature dinners offered for the entire festival were both offered in the last week of the festival.

There is no telling what next years food and wine will be like..just book your trip and go and enjoy.

Honestly, even with the cutback in events this past year, it was the absolute best food and wine fest we have ever attended. Top notch all the way food and wine. A lot of new wineries, offerings, etc. I hope they continue the new stuff for next year.
