My DH and I went to WDW on our honeymoon (1/93) and promised ourselves that some day we would bring our future children back there. Now 12 years later we are finally doing it!! We will be at WDW (CBR) w/our 2 DD's (7 and 9) from Friday night 4/22 -Sat am 4/30. Has anyone been there at that time before? How are the crowds and weather? I know we in NH and some places in MA have that week off from school, but I have the impression that is not the case in other parts of the country. We are going to try to get ressies for CRT and CM breakfasts and the Hoop-Dee-Doo. I've read so many useful tips on this board over the last week or so and thank everyone for that! Any advice or info for me would be appreciated.

My son and I will be there during that time. NYC public schools and some Long Island schools are out for spring break that week.

I don't think the crowds will be as bad as Easter, but they won't be mild. I plan to take advantage of EMH and fastpast in order to stay ahead of the crowds.

Hello there from Southern NH!! We'll be there also (5 nights at the BWV's then 3 nights on the Wonder!). It's been a very long time since I've been during April Vacation. That said I will say this...traditionally, the MA vacation week is typically much busier than NH's. Hoping I haven't jinxed us both, we will also be attempting ressies at CRT & CM. Maybe we'll see you
Enjoy your trip!

Hello fellow New Hampshirite! We were there at WDW last year during the last week in April (and are heading there again this year - a complete surprise for the kids! :Pinkbounc ). We found the weather to be wonderful (one day of rain) - mostly in the 80's, low humidity. Crowds were only a problem at the early entry parks - we learned quickly to avoid the early entry park and head somewhere else! It's probably too early to tell how the new EMH program will influence park attendance, so maybe that advice will no longer hold true. Crowds at non-early entry parks were very small - waits of 10 minutes or less for most rides, except some of the biggies (ToT, Test Track).

Only 3 months to go!! :thewave: Enjoy the planning - for me that's half the fun!

hi there and welcome to the boards.
We will also be there that week. We are hoping for the best but are preparing for some crowds.
I haven't been in the spring in a long time so I've been asking some of the same questions. Do a search for April and you will see that there have been a few threads on this time that may be helpful.

We will be there too! My DD's school is off.

Based on lack of good airfares from Newark, I am not sure what to think of crowds.

I am definitely enjoying the planning and looking ahead to the trip. I agree that it is one of the best parts. We, too are hoping for the best but preparing for crowds. I read in the "Unofficial Guide" that they project crowds for the weekend to be level 5 and the weekdays to be a 3, but who knows? There are lots of us, at least in NH, NJ, and NY on vacation. Let's hope that we all have an experience like nhdisnut last year, with short waits and gorgeous weather. Thanks for that tip. We're not early morning people, so it's good to know we won't miss a lot by not being at a park really early and can just go to one of the non-early parks. I will poke around the boards some more for more April info, as well. Temps in the 80's sure sound good right now with the frigid weather outside. Maybe I'll see you all there (and NHmomx2, good luck with those ressies)!

mrssmh - I got all my ressies, including CRT!! I feel like we're getting cheated this trip on time. We changed our flight out of MHT to a later one to save $250 - so we don't get to MCO until after 11PM. So, we lost a day. I'm really getting sad we changed it! But, 4 days at WDW, 3 Days on the cruise, then on last night at WDW should cure me - lol! Maybe we'll see you there :rotfl2:

Congratulations nhmomx2! We got all of our ressies too and I am so excited! Too bad you lost a day, but you can use the extra $250 for more fun and t-shirts. We are pulling the kids out of school on Friday because we had a tough time finding reasonable non-stop flights on Saturday. We didn't find anything out of MHT so we're leaving from Boston. We'll get in to MCO around 5:45pm, so by the time we get to the hotel there won't be much time for us either. Saturday morning, though, we're there!!

It's been a great week for me all around anyway--I got all my ressies AND U2 tix!

Have a great trip and maybe we'll see you there (we'll be at CM Sat 4/23 @ 9:10 and CRT Sunday@ 8:30)!

They are having "grad nights" that week at MK so the nights they have it the MK will close at 7 so they can get ready for the party. The parties are 11-4 in the morning.

We've gone that week twice now, and we love it! The weather was so great, very little rain. The weather can be extremely hot, in the 90's, or a very comfortable upper 70's low 80's. The crowds are moderate, but with the introduction of Fastpass, I would expect that line management would make lines pretty much of a non-factor. Strangely, the longest line we experienced (pre Fastpass) was the Jungle Boat ride, so would definitely recommend getting a fastpass for that attraction. I especially liked how beautiful.. stunning, really, Epcot is at that time of the year, with all the flowers and topiary brought in for the garden festival they host each year. We did stay at the All Stars and I'd say my only complaint was the grad night clientele. They are just kids and don't understand that their natural exuberance can impede those of us who have trouble sleeping. Hopefully, staying at a moderate, you will not encounter this problem.

You are in for a treat! Enjoy!

Our CM ressies are for Sunday at 5pm...CRT are for Tuesday at 9am and CP on Wednesday at 9am...don't think we'll be seeing you - lol! I forgot Grad Nights would be about that time. I'm wondering if the other parks will be open for the EMH to make up for the MK closing?? We were there a few times when Grad Night was going on...I can't even begin to tell you how many teens there were!! I haven't been the last week in April in a very long time...hoping for good weather and reasonable lines!

I've been doing some reading about Grad Nights on the boards, which has made us change a few things around. Our first and last nights there are both Grad Nights, but I think we'll be able to work around them for the most part. We will most likely go to MK in the morning of our first day because that's what my DD's are most excited about, but since it will only be our first day, we figure we will still have enough energy to change parks and do something else new later in the afternoon and into the evening. We had hoped to spend our last night in the MK too, but we decided to do the HDDR instead as a last hurrah before coming home.

I am psyched to hear that the weather is usually so good that week, and I hadn't even considered how beautiful the flowers and topiaries would be. Usually here in NH mud season has ended by then and it is starting to get pretty, so I imagine that in FL it is just amazing.

I, too, am hopeful for good weather, reasonable lines, and great nights of sleep for all of us!! Thanks so much everyone for your input.
