We are considering a trip to Disney next fall. With it, the kids will have a Y.E.S. class during the first week of October. We've learned that our week long trips to Disney (or Universal) never end up just a week anymore. So - which week would you recommend? I checked one crowd calendar and it looked like the last week in Sept was a little better crowd-wise but it would be a little worse weather-wise. We've never been in October. (We're normally Nov/Dec/Jan people but did start of Sept and end of May in the past as well).

Last week in September, because the first two weeks are now dominated by "Fall Break" of Southern schools. Also the second week of October is Columbus Day Holiday.

We go the last week of September every year and it is VERY HOT and VERY HUMID. I'd think the first week of October would be about the same.

The last week of September this year was also VERY CROWDED. Obviously no Xmas Day-crowded, but more crowded than what we are used to expecting.

We're booked for October 22. Real excited. Our best trips have been the October months or April. Pending if Easter in March.
We went last September and it rained every day. Not to say it can't any other time. But I read October can be one of drier months. Plus this week history shows has free dining. Fingers crossed. Staying at carribean beach

Do most schools get Columbus day off? My county does not. I'm in the southeast and our schools don't have a fall break until closer to the end of Oct. (And even then, it's just a 3-4 day weekend, with one day being a teacher in-service day. It was the 4th friday this year. A county next to me did have the third friday off in Oct). I guess I'll need to check FL school calendars. (I'm on the SC/GA border).

We won't do free dining, as we'll be using the discounted tickets that come with the Y.E.S. package so we can't do free dining. IME, free dining actually makes the lines shorter though since people are spending more time eating. We focus on the rides/attractions, so that can work in our favor!

Ah going to follow this :) have a trip planned for Oct 5-12 but wasnt sure if that was a great time... I went Oct 28-Nov 4 this yr and it wasnt bad... hot and a little crowded but not bad...could have been a break time though.

I personally like the cooler weather so I would push it as late as you can but still seeing the season your after. If you time it right you could easily see halloween and xmas.

We are from the UK, and we have booked 21 days, (3 weeeeeeekkkks!) in Orlando from the end of Sept til mid October for 2016.

We have recently returned from 2 weeks starting early October 2015. It was hot, very humid, and crowded. I expected that though, and loved the weather 90% of the time.

It should be good weather but it will probably still be busy. 10 years ago we went in Sept/Oct (roughly) and it was quite quiet!

Things change....Disney is so popular right now.

The difference in weather will be negligible between the last week of September and second week of October. We were just there the last week of October and it was 85+ and very humid every day.

I also would choose the last week of September to avoid the Columbus Day holiday which will ramp up crowds. Also, last week of September has a higher chance of free dining if that's offered next year. Most of October was blacked out this year.
