last week in Feb or first week in March?

isn't it rainy and not so nice in the beginning of feb? that's why we opted for later in the month...hoping for some nice weather.
I luckily do have the luxury to move the dates around since nothing has been booked yet.

also...the calendar doesn't show any shows (fantasmic, aladdin, woc, fireworks) for march. i hope they are just added to the schedule yet but it worries me to plan something then with none of the shows. we all LOVE the fireworks and haven't seen fantasmic or woc yet.

and left on the day after president's day it was great...mind you as long as there is no snow anything is great. We had friends that were there just before us and they did get rain...mind you they covered a lot of ground as the parks were empty. I am not super familiar iwthh SoCal weather but I cannot imagine two weeks forward or back would make a drastic difference. Hopefully with the Christmas rain they are all rained out!

thanks! that makes me feel a lot better :)
when you were there for valentines....do they do anything special for it?
Snow...yes, anything without snow is good for sure LOL

This is encouraging! How were the crowds then? We leave the day after Presidents day this year.

....a bit disappointed that they did not...I had valentiens t-shirts as a surprise for my kids so we made it special in our own way.

thank you all for your input. I am considering changing the dates but am now concerned that March doesn't have much on the calendar in terms of shows. is this something that will soon get added or there just aren't as many shows?

thank you!

they do have show dates for first week of march now and there is plenty still. we go first week of march yearly and its perfect..not TOO crowded, not too many refurbs allthough im sad splash and tours will be down this year, but the weathers great, and still lots of shows. WOC everyday, aladdin half the week, and fantasmic on weekends :)

thank you...i did see that they were no added and after reading more on there, i learned that they are not always added early but are still going to be there. that makes me feel better :)

we are now considering changing the dates to either valentines week or first week of march. I hate that it isn't planned yet but this board is helping me so much so I'm sure it will turn out fine.

Thanks again :)

we have gone in middle of feb, and often first week of march. my fav is the first week of march, little less chance of rain, temp was great every time, and lowwwww crowds! many walk on rides! enjoy your trip no matter when you go!

I have been in Feb when it was busy..it was presidents week.. This year we will be there the first week of March..as it is cheer nationals!! But new this year..they are in DTD..not in DCA.. so not sure how that is going to be.. we are excited to go.. as we go a few times a year.. I am looking forward to some warm weather! We are doing the cruise the following week..so its a short trip for us!

Keep in mind that the Disney calendar for the first 2 weeks in March show earlier hours and really only has the shows on the weekends. If you're like me, I try and avoid the weekends whenever possible!

I'm debating between last week of Feb/early March (2/27-3/5) or the 1st week of May. This way I can still see all those shows and be in the parks later (2/27-2/28) and get the lesser crowds. However, I'm concerned to hear there are cheer nationals the 1st week of March?? Say it isn't so.....Last year we went during the end of May and hit all those dance teams/cheerleaders/grad nights crowds...insane!

Perhaps 1st week of May would be better, at least for us...ah, decisions, decisions, decisions....

Yes..USA cheer nationals is first weekend in March..we will only be there Fri-Sun..but a lot of our team mates are going all week.. I have been before when there were cheer nationals.. we weren't competing as DD was only 3, but all we noticed was girls in cheer outfits.. the crowds seemed the same.. again, it is being held in DTD..so I think that area may be crowded.. I am just hoping the weather will be great!

We will be there 2/27-3/5. We've been there before when the cheerleaders were there, it isn't that bad. Except when they are practicing in the halls of the hotel at 6am LOL :lmao: I normally check out the Anaheim Convention center schedule of events and I saw they were leaving the weekend we arrive? Either way, they never seem to increase the crowds so much to really notice.

We are not going to be at the convention center...they used to use the aladin theater.. but this year its going to be outside in DTD..no idea were..maybe by ESPN zone??? they are making a stage n stands I guess.. my DD is cheering on march 5..the competition is fri-sun.. I don't think it will be supppper crowded..

This must be another group then. I remember it saying something about Spirit competition. Regardless, I kinda like the energy they bring into the parks, just not at 6am in the hotel LOL

That's an excellent idea of checking out the schedule at the convention center!:thumbsup2

Regardless of if the cheerleaders are there or not, this will at least give me some idea of the comings and goings near Disney.

DH is sadly, NOT Disney obsessed like I am so just getting him there is a struggle. If you'll notice on my signature below, I had a fairly large gap where I didn't visit Disney at all!:sad1: Thank goodness I finally convinced DH to go when my son was old enough! So crowd levels are probably my biggest issue in planning our Disney trips. If it looks busy in the parks, DH will just turn around and leave!:headache: I'm SO not kidding...and unfortunately, the only times that I've been able to drag DH there have been the middle of August and the last week in May- both unbelieveably busy times of the year to visit. If I don't get this next visit just right (as far as crowds go) then I'm afraid it will be years and years and years before I can get him to go again!

Well they always say there's no such thing as a slow day at DL. That being said though, we have only gone in March. The crowds are low and if you use FP then you really don't have much of a wait.

so does this change the numbers on the touring thing (can someone that has that check?)

Will it be very crowded on those days?
