Last week in August???

I'm wondering about the crowds in the last week of August. Are they smaller than the rest of the summer? Are Florida schools back in session?

The heat doesn't bother me, just wondering about the number of people.

from what we observed, that last week in august has lower crowds than the rest of the summer. most southern schools are already back in session and most of the rest of the country is getting ready to go back shortly after labor day.

of course the place is crowed as all get out on the actual 3 day labor day weekend - but the week before is pretty light.

We've been going the last week of August the past 2 years and love it.
The crowds a smaller because most of the schools are back in session.
There are small waits on the big rides. But using the Fastpass will help.
We will be there Aug 21- Aug 30.

Relative to our early December trip, I thought the crowds were light in late August, especially in the mornings. Expect larger crowds at the water parks though... If the hot, humid weather doesn't phase you, then enjoy! Just be prepared for occasional afternoon thunderstorms and more limited parks hours (MK and MGM mostly closed around 8:30 when we were there last summer... only two evenings when SpectroMagic was shown...)
