I'm so nervous about today.

one of our students was just diagnosed with diabetes and today is his first day back. He is only 8 years old!!

I am going to be "in charge" of his health during at least 3 days of school each week! I have to help him get his noon dosage, check his levels, etc.

I am very anxious.. this is some serious stuff!

One of my best friends' daughter also has diabetes, so she told me I could ask for any advice if I need it. And that helps since she works at the school also.

At least my nurse is coming in extra for this morning to train me and stuff.
She's at our school on Tues & Wed.

Wow! That's serious! How did it go today??

Remember I told you about the other front end manager being out "sick" for the week. I found out today that tonight she's going out to dinner with one of the bookkeepers and then going to her apartment to help her with a project. I thought being out "sick" meant being home getting better! Boss is really mad!

And, gee, the best part of my day....

Everyone at work knows that I do the schedule at home on Sunday nights. Everyone knows to call me or text me if they need a day off or if something is changing with their availability. I walk in this morning to a note left by one of the bookkeepers. She works 5 days a week, 25-30 hours. Her note said, "Sorry to give this to you on such short notice but I can't work at all the next two weeks. After that my availability will be changing." I already had the entire schedule done and now I have to re-do it all! She came in to talk to me later in the morning. She's found another job and just found out Saturday. She texts me all the time asking for stuff for her schedule - why couldn't she have done that this time.

Plus, the other thing is that this girl is the only one that can work any day shifts in the office. She is still going to work Thursday for me so I can still go to my doctor's appointment. If he says I need surgery there is no one now that can work in the office during the day and I know boss is going to give me a hard time. I'm trying not to think about it too much until I know what's going on for sure, though.
