Yikes Kimmar! I hope that she gets better and everything is OK!

Hi Dana!

Hello to the other unfamiliar ones? Are you original posters returning or newbies?

Hi, Alison! How's things today?

Hi Dana!

Today was UGH! We did all kinds of stuff at the apartment to get it ready to rent. Touch up painting...I must have climbed that ladder 50-60 times...I'm so wiped and will be going to bed soon. We had an open house sign out and a guy came in and at least he told us it was worth it, becuase we are asking alot, but it is worth it, we just need to find people who can afford a high end apartment, cause it is really nice.

Thank god I had a put in the oven and cook dinner ready because I'd planned Chicken Pita Sandwiches which required me to cut up cucumber, onion and tomato and then stir fry chicken and by the time I got back I was lucky that I could dump that bag of rolled lasagne in a pan and bake it!

Everything hurts and I've already taken 600 mg of Ibuprofen. We have much stronger things I could take but I don't think that is wise for me. I want to get up tomorrow morning! :lmao: So I will bid you adieu! Hopefully Sharon will drop by or maybe we will find out about more of these new gals, unless they are just spammers, looking for places to post.....

...her heart rate went down to 22 beats/min and they couldnt' register a blood pressure...turns out she had a heart attack so they put a temporary pacemaker in (by way of a wire inserted into her neck) and put in a permanent one [pacemaker] this afternoon....

:flower3: I hope your MIL gets better! And soon!

Sounds like you've been busy! Just remember - not too much Ibuprofen. Some is good, but too much is not good.

This is my drop by. DH is in San Francisco this week; so I'm doing the single parent thing. DS is really very easy...but the cooking, cleaning, cats, general chores take extra time. DH is home on Sunday (my time, Sat yours); which is also Father's Day in Australia. So, we'll be planning something extra special to welcome him home with.

Keep well....and hope to catch you sometime, if not definitely at the weekend. I should have more time to chat as the photography scavenger winds up tomorrow (thank goodness). I'm not sure how much more running around I can take .

And I have pictures of a degustation dinner to share.....it can keep for the weekend. I went to here for dinner in the restaurant section. popcorn::

Until then....

....well, supposedly today they will be putting my M-i-L into a 'regular' room (she's been in ICU) and she actually sat up in a chair last night....she has so many other health issues though - kidneys on the blink, diabetes, weakened heart and arteriosclerosis, a deep wound/infection in her toe, celiac,....

The menus look odd (from a US perspective). Probably the same experience we had when we went to New Zealand, everything was just a tad bit off. We just don't eat things like beef cheeks, well I don't see them on menus much and there were a few other things :confused3 but I would be interested in hearing about your experience!

Extra shift done-about 1/6 of the way there to paying off the vacation to WDW in November :cool1:

Kimmer I hope your MIL continues her recovery with no other problems :wizard:

And no I'm no a stalker-but one of the original LTP'er just coming home to my roots for a little while-missed it over here :)

No, it wasn't you I was talking about, but the other two gals who posted something and we haven't seen them on this #10 thread and they weren't on my very limited experience on #9 thread.

It's obvious you are well versed in the LTP land!

:faint: So I'm finally here today. It's been a long day. I was supposed to do a focus group, but it was out in Rosemont and I couldn't find the freakin building! By the time I got back to the train station to go home, I was dehydrated and a little sunburnt and very annoyed :(

How are you guys today?

Sorry you had an annoying day. We didn't do much except work on eBay stuff and other money generating projects. We went to band tonight and have been watching stuff on the DVR since we got home at 10:30ish.

I'm hungry and am trying to figure out what I have left on my diet that I can still eat tonight.

Eh, such is life. If I'd gotten a ride, I could have made it there, but my dad was being a jerk and my mom was asleep. How was band and the DVR?

I'm hungry, but I really don't know what the heck I want. I'm sure I'll wind up making something soon, as I've only eaten once since 11am. We had pot roast and potatoes for dinner :)

I just had a lowfat yogurt. Next I'm going to have a piece of celery with peanut butter and then some strawberries. Strange choices, but I had 1 dairy, 4 vegetable, and 1 fat servings left for the day. If I'm still hungry after this, I'll have a glass or two of V8!

Band was fun. Fran even had a good time!

Sounds good :) I hate dieting. It never works for me for some reason :(

I'm glad band was fun and Fran had a good time! I'm watching Monty Python and the Holy Grail at the moment :)

This is a pretty good diet. I can eat a little bit normally but it takes a lot of planning. It would probably be more effective if I followed it to the letter, but I do a modified version of the plan. It's about 1300-1500 calories per day. I get a certain number of grains, protiens, fats, fruits, dairy, and vegetables each day. I'm supposed to eat them at certain meals, but I mix them up throughout the day. Often I save my grains (supposed to be for breakfast and lunch) so that I can have a sandwich or hamburger at dinner. I suppose if I ate them earlier in the day, I would burn them off in my normal activities.

In three months, I have lost about 15 pounds almost 20 depending on the day! :lmao: The fluctuations suck! But I'm eating a heck of a lot differently than I was 6 months ago, so I'm hopeful that I will see some more loss. If it's not TMI, that time of the month always sets me back and it takes a week or so to see any more loss.

We are really eating less than before and I am even seeing it in my grocery budget. We tend to buy a lot of meat when it is on sale, put it in the freezer and so I've got Turkeys, Prime Ribs and Hams in there not to mention Tri Tip, Rib Eyes and all sorts of other odd cuts of meat. I've hardly purchased any meat recently so that saves a lot of money. I keep taking stuff from the freezer, the only thing I'm going to have to replace is boneless skinless chicken breasts. I've tried to make a lot of those since they are healthy and fast.

I'm going to need to make a Ham soon and a Turkey, but I also have lots of shredded Ham and Turkey in the freezer in serving size packs, so I need to think of something good and healthy to do with them to make a meal. Casseroles are out of the question on this diet, as are Turkey & Dumplings which I used to love to make , but it's not figure friendly! :rotfl:

I guess I could make a lot of Turkey Egg Foo Young, that is really healthy and easy to do...that's what I'll do with the turkey, now what to do with the ham....that's a good question! Oh well don't need to ponder this on LTP!

Are burritos out of the question with the diet plan? I googled 'healthy shredded turkey recipes' and one thing that kept coming up was turkey and pinto bean burritos :) There were a few for shredded ham, as well, including quiches, if you like those :)

Well the tortilla sort of puts that out. 1 grain serving is either 2 4" corn tortillas or 1 6" corn or whole wheat tortilla and you can't really make a burrito out of that much tortilla. You're not really allowed ham on the diet, but that's one of the places I fudge it. I figure 3 oz of whatever meat is OK and if it is fatty then I also use up one of my fat servings in the meat. Like today I had a piece of skirt steak for breakfast and some grapes, (meat, fat, fruit, saving my grains for dinner and birthday cake at rehearsal). The other thing is that beans can either be a grain or a protein and I get 1/2 a cup wherever I put them. I could have a 6 inch tortilla with 1/4 cup of beans and 1 1/2 oz of turkey. 1 oz of cheese for the fat and some spices (no calories)...onions are free vegetables as are lettuce, tomatoes, etc. However, opening a can of beans for one burrito is not so good...hence the reason for a lot of planning.

My new favorite thing is a 3oz turkey patty melt, the onions count as a veggie. I can have one slice of rye bread that I cut in half and the slice of swiss cheese counts as the fat so that makes a perfect lunch. If I have a glass of V8 with it and maybe a pickle slice (another stretch of the vegetable). Other non grain lunches are 4 Friday's Chicken Wings (protein) with celery (vegetable) and blue cheese dressing (fat), or 1/2 can of chili (beans and meat = protein + some vegetable in the tomatoes) with cheese (fat) and onions (vegetable). I also made an awesome turkey salisbury steak the other day which had no grains but had mushrooms & onions as veggie.

If I'm following the diet properly and having protein and veggies (3) for dinner and one fat, at breakfast I have 3/4 cup multi grain cheerios with 3 oz of milk, a piece of turkey sausage, 14 grapes and 5 oz of chocolate milk. Yes chocolate milk is an allowed part of the diet! That's probably how I keep on it. Sometimes, I have my entire protein as the chocolate milk! But I have to know in the morning if I will have any grains at dinner so I do not have them at breakfast or lunch. That's the way it's been going and I have not been losing much weight. I think I need to start planning dinners that have no carbs and eat them for breakfast and lunch to get back to weight loss.

Anyways, it's really late here and I should decide to get to bed. As I'm watching ads on TV for Pillsbury Toaster Strudel (drool) but I can't eat that crap!

I should be going to bed!
