OK....I started this reply last night and woke up this morning to find it unfinished on my screen....so here goes...

Well since you live local and are not CRAZY like Fran and I you probably don't pay attention to the Disney Vacation Club. I am obsessed with the DVC, we own at SSR (Saratoga Springs Resort) and were hoping to pick up about 250 more points with the loan. 100 points at BCV (Beach Club Villas), 75 at VWL (Villas at the Wilderness Lodge) and 75 more at VGC (Villas at the Grand Californian Hotel). Unfortunately if we find another lender, the points at VGC will be sold out by the time we get financed. UGH! :sad1:

We bought 165 at VGC last year, but need more! ! ! ! Yes I admit we're addicts!

We are DVC members too! We purchased at SSR and have since added on at VWL because we LOVE it!

When is the new boss-man expected to start?

ha ha... jumping in on a conversation but..... MY new boss starts today!

Our Principal left at the end of the school year and today is the new Principal's first day!!

I don't officially start for three more weeks, but I'm going to go in today to meet the head honcho.

I was born in Malaysia. My parents are Malaysian and my dad's family migrated to Australia; so we followed. I was 14 when I moved to Australia - totally hated being here for the first 3 years - and didn't have any real friends until I got to Uni. Now, I couldn't imagine living anywhere else but in Oz.

I have very fond memories of Malaysia and still have extended family there.

But most of my family are in Australia....and we are a very multicultural and multi-religious lot. We represent North and South Hemisphere; and most major religions of the world:
  • We're Australian Malaysians.
  • My brothers both married women with Italian backgrounds.
  • My younger brother (who is now divorced) is with an Australian woman, blonde and blue-eyed.
  • DH was born in South Africa and is a non-practising Jew.
  • I'm a non-practising Catholic.
  • My mum was born into the Buddhist faith and converted to Catholicism when she got married; so I have cousins that practise Buddhism as well.
  • One of my cousin's is still in Malaysia and she is married to a Malaysian Prince and has converted to Muslim.

With a family like this, food a BIG in my family. We enjoy all sorts of food and cook all types of cuisine. I will eat anything spicy!

Wow! That's quite a (what we would call in America) Melting Pot, or I prefer Alexis de Toqueville's analogy, salad bowl! That's really cool to have so many different backgrounds. My family is boring. I don't know why I pictured you differently, but you're the first Malaysian I've ever "met". Cool!

Hope everything goes OK....dental problems can be scary. :scared1:

I really hope we get some financing so I can get some more points. Since they opened up the VGC, it's good that I wasn't planning to go to WDW in my 2010 UY because I used up all the SSR points with last minute stays in California (well six months or less in advance). I figure 250 more points should do it. 75 that I can use at 11 mos in CA, and then 100 at BCV to reserve F&W 11 mos out, and 75 at VWL so I can reserve 11 mos out to tack on to a SSR or BCV stay. Every five years or so we'll stay at AKV (Animal Kingdom Villas), and I'd like to try BLT (Bay Lake Tower) and OKW (Old Key West) someday.

I figure that between banking, borrowing and using extra points less than 7 mos out in CA, I'll have just the right amount. People think it's silly for me to like staying in a hotel 25 minutes from home, but it's so much fun to go to DL for a couple days and not have to come home inbetween. And to watch a theme park out your balcony window, well that's just cool.

It's been a long day. I'd forgotten to set my alarm clock, so I missed my dentist appointment and then my mom was like "Let's go run errands!" and then I made dinner (chicken and broccoli with rice, yum!) and then I played a video game with my dad. It doesn't sound like much, but I've only been awake since 3pm :lmao:

How are you?

About a month :headache: That's fine, though, to be honest. I've waited this long, it can wait another month. Hopefully the oop cost won't be too high :(
