I'm not sure why I don't like coconut. I love how it smells (and the extract for baking), so I think it's just the texture of the shaved coconut. I'm like that sometimes. I won't eat oatmeal or grits because of the texture.

:tigger:

We probably have barra about once every 6 weeks. And I found it funny to be eating Barramundi in Walt's Wharf! :lmao:

I so want to go there, we ate there once and it was wonderful! I so want to go out places! Before her surgery I had Fran take me out to dinner at a Teppan restaurant and then also lunch at one of my favorite restaurants, but there are so many others that I would like to go to. Way back when we used to go out a lot, for the last few years, I cook almost every night, it's just too painful and too much work for her to go into a restaurant. Then once we get there we have to hope that they have a table she can sit at because a booth is too difficult to get into.

Sometimes staying at home watching TV while I make dinner gets to be too much. While it's become comfortable, I might like it if we went out occasionally...we'll see what happens come September...

I don't like the taste or the texture, coconut is just icky :sad2:

It must be the South East Asian heritage....but I LOVE fresh coconut and will have this or the tinned coconut cream in curries.

I cannot stand the coconut extract/flavour that you get in the supermarkets.

The only exception is a well made lamington; which will have the coconut sprinkles over it.

Gotta go guitar lesson and then pick up the boy. And I am going out tonight; so I won't be on line.

I'll probably be MIA over the next two days - working!

Have fun everyone.

I've been slightly curious about this, if you don't mind sharing, what is your heritage? When you get back....

It's just I had been reading your PTRs for quite some time before I saw your photo and was completely surprised when I saw the first photo of you. My original picture of you in my mind was very different from your actual image. Not a bad thing, but I didn't realize you had Asian heritage. I'm curious, just because I'm like that, and there's always food background associated with heritage....just curious...I understand if you don't want to share....

OK, time to go to :cloud9:

Good night ladies! see you in the late CA morning!

Kind of odd without Kim doing her drive by posts, Ruthie are you meeting up with her at all? Hope she's having a good time with her dud of a DH!

Hey Y'all I finally wrapped up my F&W CA report with all the food porn, I posted the last pics of Taste akin to PSTS in FL. Just thought you might want to know! Now I'm really going to :cloud9:

Okay! I'll check it out later :)

I found out that the other Adriana (not the one I work with, we have two women named Adriana on staff) isn't planning on coming back. She quit with no notice and no actual "I quit" statement. This should be interesting.

I was born in Malaysia. My parents are Malaysian and my dad's family migrated to Australia; so we followed. I was 14 when I moved to Australia - totally hated being here for the first 3 years - and didn't have any real friends until I got to Uni. Now, I couldn't imagine living anywhere else but in Oz.

I have very fond memories of Malaysia and still have extended family there.

But most of my family are in Australia....and we are a very multicultural and multi-religious lot. We represent North and South Hemisphere; and most major religions of the world:
  • We're Australian Malaysians.
  • My brothers both married women with Italian backgrounds.
  • My younger brother (who is now divorced) is with an Australian woman, blonde and blue-eyed.
  • DH was born in South Africa and is a non-practising Jew.
  • I'm a non-practising Catholic.
  • My mum was born into the Buddhist faith and converted to Catholicism when she got married; so I have cousins that practise Buddhism as well.
  • One of my cousin's is still in Malaysia and she is married to a Malaysian Prince and has converted to Muslim.

With a family like this, food a BIG in my family. We enjoy all sorts of food and cook all types of cuisine. I will eat anything spicy!

Okay! I'll check it out later :)

God, tell me about it. I'm thinking that when I come back to work on Wednesday night, I should come in early with a bag of popcorn:: :lmao: Not to mention the drama on the two day shifts. On our day shift (the people who work mornings the days that we work nights), one woman is INSANELY lazy. Worse than Adriana. She's also late every single day. On the other day shift, two of the women have shouting matches in the hallways. I don't know how they think that's professional, but whatever. Not my problem. And, according to some of the residents, the women on the other night shift sleep all night!

So, yeah. Lots of drama in my workplace :lmao: I think that's what they get for hiring ten women. All told, I think there are maybe five male employees in this whole building (two maintenance, one cook, one server, and one office guy). We're supposed to get a new department head later this week and our boss says that he (a man!) is going to straighten things out as far as the shift problems go.

Well, one of maybe... three? Two now, since Adriana left. But yeah, hardly anyone actually does their job in this department.
