the on Friday we have our HS openhouse for the 8th graders (we are an options school which means the kids have to apply to get in instead of going to their neighborhood school-- remember Chicago has 300+ high schools)
and its gonna be a long day. School 7:30 - 3:01 then open house 6:30-8:30!!! YIKES!!!

...actually, the parents can visit the school tomorrow, since it's 'Open House' day, and then at 7-9PM tomorrow night they can pick up their child's report card in their homeroom and visit with any of the teachers - some lines to see teachers are longer than others; I wonder why......

...I left the school for lunch - i got a HOT slice of pizza and a bowl of lentil soup - YUMM-O!!

...actually, the parents can visit the school tomorrow, since it's 'Open House' day, and then at 7-9PM tomorrow night they can pick up their child's report card in their homeroom and visit with any of the teachers - some lines to see teachers are longer than others; I wonder why......

no school for elementary schools today, parents go anytime from 12 -7 to meet with teachers and get grades. then no school thursday for students, same time 12-7 for teachers to wait for parents who don't come. Its a little sad. that only about 400 of the 1500 parents will come to school, and about 200 of those are my Special Ed kids parents. (we usually have about a 85% turn out vs the whole school 20%)

...wow - I have about 60 students and I'm lucky if I see 4 or 5.....
