having 17 people over dinner is at 4 (or 5 for you east coasters!!!)


then eating eating eating.

So, you should just about be sitting down to dinner now. Hope all goes well with it!

It's just the immediate family and son-in-law here today. I guess that's why I'm not stressed this year.

fresh from the farm.

Ours isn't fresh from the farm - but there have been enough of them in our field we could have gotten a fresh one.

I opted for frozen - we had a promotion at work and I ended up with two free turkeys. Plus, we've had them on sale 68 cents a pound, limit 1, so I've bought four over the past week!

and I do make some killer stuffing -- even if I do say so myself!!!

Stuffing's one of my specialties too! It's my mom's recipe!

US TOO!! except I got the sprial ham from costco this year.... we'll see how it turns out

So, was the sprial ham good?

I've gotten spiral hams in the past and never been thrilled with them. Plus, I always like the leftovers and bone for soup and the spiral slices just don't do well in soup.

us too, but no marshmellows. we also use sugar free suryp and splenda for my DH who is diabetic.-- but it still tastes pretty good, and I am the sugar-holic

You'd like my sweet potatoes then. Loaded with brown sugar! Probably not a healthy idea for your DH though.

that is all I really need on thanksgiving.....

You and me both! I think I could live on mashed potatoes!

I remember when I had my wisdom teeth out about 12 or 13 years ago. The only comfort food I wanted was mashed potatoes. And I didn't want instant....and I didn't want leftovers! So every time I was hungry DH would make me fresh mashed potatoes!

we do califlower instead of corn.

A friend of mine does creamed corn each summer and puts in in those seal-a-meal bags and freezes it. Her creamed corn on Thanksgiving has become a tradition!

of course -- who doesn't have this

I do mine in the crock pot though.

Kim how are your new windows??

New Windows went in on the 21st Friday-and remember DS was suppose to come home that day too-but again his departure was pushed back to Monday-Ughhh

And the new windows went in without a hitch-they look great!!

So.... on Sunday when DS was suppose to be calling me from the airport saying he was getting ready to fly-well I got a call saying yet again his flight was pushed back!!!

So He arrived FINALLY on Tuesday afternoon


-BUT didn't arrive here to Atlanta until Wednesday am- So he's finally home safe and sound fromt he Middle East!!!

They made him wait in Norfolk all night Tuesday instead of flying him home right away-but Oh well....He's FINALLY Home and better yet He's Home for all the Holidays!!!!

OK-I have to go

We're having Thanksgiving on Friday and I'm pre-making the sweet potato cassarole and the twice baked pototoes are getting there 1st baking tonight and then some 7 layer cookie bars and pumkin bread
