Ring the agencies up and see if you can go in and chat with someone. Sometimes, if you're there in front of them and if they have met you, they might remember you later on when something comes up.

I assume you're also doing the letter drops to the firms you want to work for irrespective of whether they advertise or not...

I guess. I just feel really weird about it. I know that's probably to my detriment...but I'm really shy. I'm ok in interviews. But just the whole talking to an agency....

I did a block of 'letter drops' a while ago with no responses.
Will start up again searching within my main speciality interests.

You can be shy when you get the job. When you're looking for a job, you can't afford to be shy.

What about companies in....Melbourne?
I've thought of that too. I think there are more jobs there. But I simply can't afford to move.
Even if I wanted to try and work something out with my friend who lives there. She's still on rotation so isn't in 'Melbourne' all the time. She shifts from hospital to hospital doing her general surgery training.
She does actually own a house somewhere but she's currently going through council to do a knock down rebuild on the site.

Well...you won't know until you apply and see if you can get a job. If you do get offered a position in Melbourne, you can then work out how to move. I'm sure your parents would help you out initially.

You must know different ones to me :rolleyes1

Parents?

No, they are all the same. They want you to grow up but only if you still do exactly as you're told and listen to them 110%. And then when you do something different, they get angry. Once they are over the anger, they then move heaven and earth to help you. :goodvibes

Just watching Sam Brown on the Big Island of Hawaii. Sigh......wanna go on a helicopter ride around there.
Need to visit Stitch on Kauai too...
And of course Mickey on Oahu...

Funny you mention Hawaii. DH and I were talking about a 10 day vacay there tonight....but I think we're going to go skiing in Oz this year instead.

Is your camera still working? If so, I'd love to see some shots of Chicago from your perspective. The OTHER person who recently went to Chicago seems to only be fascinated with buildings that are deemed noteworthy. I'd like to see the El...the river....your favourite spots etc.

My camera is, yeah. I'm sure I can take some pictures for you :)

hmmmm....yes I should have sorted through these earlier...oh well...I will get to it...
Just some random shots
LOVE this one as you can see the older buildings across the river reflected

There is a rule that the waterfront all along the river is PUBLIC access. No matter what building 'occupies' the site. It must be accessible by the public.
This kind of shows how this is dealt with...

Bridge....after bridge.......after bridge............

Oh the number of times I crossed that flippin river :lmao: getting lost....
err...
well see.....
SOME roads are not 'connected' so while the appear as cross streets on the map. One is higher than the other :headache:

:rotfl: Welcome to Chicago :) I've lived here almost my whole life (except for Florida and Alaska), and I still get lost downtown.

Good morning! It's Disney Eve here!

:yay: You guys are going to have such a great time!
