Need your opinion.

This week's photo competition topic is Downtown Disney and Merchandise. I've whittled my choices down to 3 or 4 pictures and I'm undecided as to which one to post. Here's what I have left....which one do you think will appeal to the masses?

hmmmm....yes I should have sorted through these earlier...oh well...I will get to it...
Just some random shots
LOVE this one as you can see the older buildings across the river reflected

There is a rule that the waterfront all along the river is PUBLIC access. No matter what building 'occupies' the site. It must be accessible by the public.
This kind of shows how this is dealt with...

Bridge....after bridge.......after bridge............

Oh the number of times I crossed that flippin river :lmao: getting lost....
err...
well see.....
SOME roads are not 'connected' so while the appear as cross streets on the map. One is higher than the other :headache:

I like this one...
I guess it could be said it's too 'obvious'? as it shows the 'downtown disney' but I like it.

BTW...where did you see that? Never seen that bear before?? So cute! :goodvibes

It's been about...20 years since I was last in Chicago. I remember meandering along a short part of the river and enjoying the architecture. We also went to the top of the Sears Tower...and had pan pizza in a pizza shop near the football (or is it baseball) park. I think I mentioned the pizza shop to Dana once and she could name the restaurant. I also remember the lake and some of the downtown area.

I really need to get myself back to Chicago sooner rather than later.

That's the one I like...but I've been second guessing myself all week. Thanks. I'll go submit it shortly.

The bear is a Build-a-Bear and is one of those exclusive bears only at Build-a-Bear in DTD. I don't remember if it was available at the BaB in WDW...but that would be because I didn't find time to go to BaB in WDW.

I bought one to come home with me. :lovestruc

Good luck with it!!
That's awesome. Very jealous...

You should. It's a lovely city. It's kinda like NYC but different...

This is the view from John Hancock Tower down to Navy Pier

I never went to Navy Pier. I was just so tired. My brother did one night...but I was just buggered.

I'm going to have to find me some national parks to visit near Chicago or a reason to head there so that I can convince DH to go.

BTW - have you been lurking about our Very Cool Vet's PTR/TR at all? She's got some wedding pictures posted and she looks SUPER GORGEOUS.....I've just been lurking but not posting at all...

I looked up enough to get the login for her photos on the photographer's site.
She's stunning. Beautiful dress.
I didn't read the details but I'm guessing they get to go into the parks before or after entry to take photos???

I didn't login to the photography site....that just felt a little bit too much like prying. But yes, I think they got after entry for some of those shots.
She's wanting to submit for a Bridal Mag Win a Holiday and has posted some head shots, full body and bride and groom. She was convassing to see which ones her subscribers liked best. They all look good and I almost nearly de-lurked to provide some input.

Chicago's finest...

I've started taking photos of emergency vehicles. Of course not the easiest this as if you hear them coming you likely won't get the camera out soon enough....but I TRY...

One day no less than FIVE fire trucks and a couple SUVs carrying the chief amongst others were all racing through the city. Oh my ears!!! We were on a walking tour at the time. About 10 mins after they took off they started arriving back without lights and sirens....
Must have been a cat up a tree...

I understand that sentiment. But it's kinda the 'norm' to me now having been to a couple sites of friends....
Hope you don't think I'm weird...er...as a result ;)

Not sure I'll comment. It's hard to say which is better. I understand her 'gripe' about looking awkward. But she's still stunning...

Or a regular tripping fire alarm in a building somewhere...

How's the job front? Any interviews?

No...not at all. I was just expressing a personal preference. I have had too many knocks from life to know better than to expect everyone else to think the same as me....much less anyone else on the Dis..:rolleyes1

Only those 2 interviews a while ago. Been getting lovely prompt 'sorry but....' emails :sad2:
I even got a prompt no from being a drafter at a developer.....hmph.....

To get an interview I need more 'firms' to be advertising rather than recruitment agencies.
But it's mostly recruitment.

Actually...I think it's Shuttergirl's site which makes me think it's even 'more' normal.
I get it's advertising and they are stunning photos you want to show off...
But her previews on her site seemed a bit 'prying' at first. But everyone does it now...:lmao:

The top end of town only go through recruitment agencies these days. It saves them HR resources for vetting applications and getting to a shortlist.

Are there any that specialise in your field of work? If so, you need to make friends with one or two individuals in that recruitment agency.

It's hard to say 'specialised' is good as there are a few
Say bespoke.com.au - They are the 'least' likely to get back to you and they are 'specialists'
thinc phoned me once to get more info but I never heard back
There's designbuild, design and construct, iceberg....etc...

I understand the whole HR etc. But tbh I think you get a better result doing it yourself. The interviews I did were for a company with 100, and one with 50. That's pretty big these days. But they want to screen their own.
I think it's actually the smaller ones going through the agencies. Where I used to work had about 15 at the peak? And two of the staff are from agencies...
go figure...
