Depends on the industry.
We need nurses and engineers and stuff.

My industry...the economics and government changing regulations has caused problems.

All in all our Economy is going very well. It's about the best in the 'developed' world

Disney Fly, what about the interview that you had at your local Disney Store? I hope that will go well for you. It will at least give you paid work, while you look for an improved situation. You can even still work at the Disney Store too.

It sounds like Aussie land is doing so much better in comparison to the U.S. We are suppose to be one of the worlds richest countries. That is why people here can be working full time, but yet still be sleeping in a shelter, on someones couch or their car. You don't see that on California's tourism commercials, now do ya?

It sounds like Aussie land is doing so much better in comparison to the U.S. We are suppose to be one of the worlds richest countries. Yeah I mean it's complicated by the fact there is a housing shortage and higher prices for houses in Sydney. Rental keeps going up and up.
It's doing my head in...but at least I live at home so my costs are minimal...

Once you get a good full time job the pay is generally better though. Certainly minimum wage is higher and if you are a waitress you get paid what you're paid. Tips are NOT a custom so while you might get one...you don't depend on it.

There is also the fact that you get 4 weeks annual leave, sick leave (paid and unpaid) etc as part of a normal full time job.

So...you know...there's good and bad.
PLENTY are struggling with rising costs of living. And our food is MUCH more expensive.
But...


Yeah as a country we're doing 'better'

It wasn't a real interview, just a sort of mini-interview. I'm hoping they'll call me for a real one I've been applying for everything, even McDonald's. I don't get UI, though.

Thats funny, hoping for a real one. I know what you mean. I am hoping for you that you will be called for a serious, I am going to hire you now, interview. Did your benefits become exhausted? If you can qualify for U I, at least that will help a bit. I don't know the particulars for your State. I am in California, the tarnished State. For it is not so golden for so many of it's people. It is sad....

Don't give up hope. For sometimes, that is all that we have left, that, and a sense of humor. Being as polite as possible, as hard as some people can make it at times, is very important too, because that also is one of very few things that we can have power of.

We haven't gotten around to calling yet." But yeah, if you can't smile in 105 degree heat while hauling trash, you can't smile anywhere Yay for Disney training
