That's what we think but they need all the data and xrays for when they do their rounds at 6-7am and we have to give replacements for labs results that may be all messed up(ie-potassium replacements etc...)Not much fun for the kids though-I get really protective of my patients and make the dr's come back later to examine pt if they can(which they can) and draw the labs really quietly so they usually keep on sleeping through it
I can't complain-my patient is soooo cute and I have him all alone right now,which he's doing so well he could be paired with another patient-but staffing is good and I love when that happens
I know what you mean-we seem to have lost our spot when we both got different jobs this later spring/summer-just way too busy to DIS-there should be a law!!!!!!!!!!
We only have decent staffing on the weekends-when most the patients are being discharged or transfered to the floor-since most had surgery on Mon/Tues-so Sunday is always the best and most quietest day of our week-but there are always exceptions-
