I have done that before with coconut tonight I am going to try to toast sunflower seeds from our garden for the first time....I have them soaking right now

Well, I just spoke with my cousin. The call this morning was exactly what I thought it was. My cousin in Ohio passed away this morning!

He just gave up. He's been in the hospital since before Christmas and was to the point that he knew how bad he was. He was 6'4' and down to around 100 pounds! If he lived he would never walk again, he was on dialysis, it's just not the way he wanted to live so I know in my heart he just gave up.

He had been in an accident in December, he was unloading a truck - standing against the loading dock of that truck and another truck backed up and crushed him between the truck and the loading dock.

He was only 55! Please remember him, and his son and daughter (both grown with children of their own) in your prayers!

I'm so sorry...our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family

Liz hasn't been on for a while. I hope everything is okay, too. I'm betting she's just overwhelmed with activities with the kids. She spends a lot of time at the school.

Hi Kathy!! How are you today?

I am so glad it is Friday. Work has been really rough this week. I've been looking at my schedule and I've only taken 1/2 vacation day for the year so far.

My gout is terrible this morning! The new (not as strong) medicine that the doctor gave me yesterday isn't doing anything. He told me if it was still bothering me in about 48 hours to call and they would call in the stronger (steroids) that I usually take. Then I got to thinking about it...48 hours means Saturday afternoon. Yeah, right, like I'm going to get a hold of him on Saturday. I would have to wait until Monday. So I am going to call after lunch if it's not better.

In the meantime, I have dipped into my supply of percocet. Glad I had the prescription filled for it when I came home from the hospital - even though I didn't need it!

Sorry to whine...I've just been feeling so much better and will have to be going back to work soon so I was hoping to have a little time at home to enjoy and to get some projects around the house done. Staying off my foot and laying around on the couch is not what I had in mind. I spent enough time on the couch when I got home from the hospital!

As for the offer-I don't think the seller is very motivated as we were told-He came back with an offer that the realtors were almost too embarassed to present-He doesn't want to fix anything and doesn't want to include any closing cost and only came down in price by 3,000-Ughhh-so we are counter offering later this morning

My cousin's funeral is tomorrow, with the viewing tonight. I don't know why they scheduled it so soon knowing that there would be some people traveling from out of town. Both of his brothers live out of town, on in SC and one in AZ.

I wish I could go because up until a few years ago we were very close. He got divorced a few years ago and really withdrew from everyone so I haven't been that close to him since then. Growing up, all of my cousins were at least 10 years older than me and they were all boys. I was the only girl and the baby of the bunch so they always doted on me.

I had a feeling that they weren't going to want to do anything about those retaining walls. That's a big job! But I did expect that maybe they would come back with so $$ set aside in the counter-offer for you to have them fixed.
