So, Lyn - everything still okay after the earthquake??
:confused3 there have been lots of tremors...but most you can't feel. My guinea pig was freaked out and didn't move for about 3 or 4 hours yesterday...so I think he could feel them. Then, all day yesterday it was VERY windy...it was somewhat unnerving to hear the windows rattle....my youngest neice was a little freaked out and I would have to comfort her and tell her we were okay. Then, this moring I woke up to very heavy rain and it has been raining A LOT all day....we have flood warnings :sad2: I have no idea what is up with the weather...our city-island was without power for a long time and people were without water/food yesterday...well, DH had to fly there this morning :sad2: but he is on his way to the airport to come home now...yesterday all the airports were closed..so this morning I had taken an hour off of work since I had to take the kids to school since DH could take them...it really sucked driving in the bad rain...I also took off last Thursday since DD was sick, tummy thing, and Friday since DD had a field trip and DS was off of school....so I had so much work when I got in this morning. I am doing well catching up...but my boss and my co-worker are both leaving mid-week for vacations...she will be gone a week and he is going to be gone over 2 weeks and I will have to supervise while he is gone....so between weird natural events and work....nothing but fun :teeth:

::yes:: yep, that is the most important thing!!!! I was talking with a friend this morning at DD's school and she was saying how unprepared they were and she had a talk with her family that afternoon on what to do and where to go if this happens again. I told her we did the same thing...we talked to the kids about going outside and meeting in the front of the house. I should have run outside as soon as I had DS and DH should have taken DD....but at the time all we thought was to protect the kids where we were until the shaking stopped. I think there was an element of shock since we woke up to it and were confused.

My friend (and she lives farther from me....maybe another 15 miles away from me and the epicenter) said that her house moved on its foundation and now the floor isn't level...some of the drawers and cabinents in the house can't open/close like before....and my other friend was in a store when it happened...she is so fortunate that the shelves didn't fall...I don't even like to think about the what ifs...so thankful everyone is okay

Wow.
That is crazy. At least with the hurricanes we get, there is some warning.
:grouphug:

I think I read the last big earthquake we got was almost 30 years ago :confused3 The news now is that it was a 6.7 and a 6.0....I think we were about 50-60 miles from the epi-center. This was the first time I experienced an earthquake this big...and once was more than enough for a lifetime :thumbsup2
