adding another to my list. we had a similar situation with one of my students and her family over labor day weekend. They lost 6 children and two (including my student) are in the hospital still in critical condition. Mom was able to save the 6mo and the two older 19 and 21 were not at home. Dad was at work. Just went to the funerals yesterday and it was sad. The impact of seeing 6 little coffins next to each other is tremendous.

How sad! Can't even imagine the pain the family has.

He came home about half an hour ago and I know it's weighing on him. He came home about an hour and a half early which he doesn't do often.

It has to be effecting him-It always gets to me when you see the parents and the pain they are feeling -I could never imagine the intensity of feelings he felt actually being at the fire and having to watch as it just burned away those young lives

I am thankful that it was in the town's fire district and not ours. I don't think I could have handled it!

After years in the fire service
and losing 2 people at differnet times
I have some idea of how he is feeling about the helplessness

Focus on the Good he did savign those he could

I am working all day today and this weekend doesn't look like much DIS time so

you will have plenty of lead padding time

but THINGS WILL GET BACK TO NORMAL AND THEN WATCH OUT I WILL CATCH UP

Padding the lead won't be as much fun under the circumstances!

I decided not to tell the girls until after school
there didn't seem to be any point in upsetting them
and they would have wanted to stay home and i really think
that wouldn't have helped at all

DH and i will tell them when they get home
and they will most likely miss Monday since i think that will be the service
