Mom2Ashli said:Well update on my Mom.
Things are not looking good. Of course she is in the hospital so they run all kinds of tests due to her past history.
She had to go and do a stress test this morning and they found some area that didn't look good. So now they are talking about doing catheterization. She called me crying and upset.
I am getting to the end of my rope here. It is taking everything I have to keep myself together.

Mom2Ashli said:It means that the blood is not flowing thru her heart the way it should. Meaning it could be a blockage stopping the flow of blood. She has had stents before and that is what they are talking about doing again.
**********
A stent is a wire mesh tube used to prop open an artery during angioplasty. The stent is collapsed to a small diameter and put over a balloon catheter. It's then moved into the area of the blockage. When the balloon is inflated, the stent expands, locks in place and forms a scaffold. This holds the artery open. The stent stays in the artery permanently, holds it open, improves blood flow to the heart muscle and relieves symptoms (usually chest pain).

Kelli, I am so sorry. I feel like I should post something to help you look on the bright side.... like thankfully they found this before her trip....but quite frankly, this whole thing really sucks...I wish you Mom wasn't in the hospital and you all weren't in this stressful situation...you have had your plate full this entire yearMom2Ashli said:That is great news for your brother.
My Mom has several of them already. She is just very upset right now. This was totally unexpected and she was supposed to leave on a two week vacation on Saturday.

tubachick said:yes, it is coolthe "smaller" zoo also has a small dolphin area, but not like this. The "cool" dolphin show is at our aquarium downtown, but we only go there on tuesdays (free admission to city residents-- although the dolphin show still cost $$)
BTW-- the dolphins don't do "tricks" they on ly do things they would do in the wild (I never saw a dolphin in the wild, but I don't think they would play with beach balls?)
Mom2Ashli said:I just heard from my Mom. The cardiologist was just in to see her. They are going to do an Ultrasound on her heart and after he sees that he will decide when and if she can go home.
Than she has to have a stress test this week. (which she totally hates)
