DH just called. He has a chance at a new position where he works and I really don't know what to do. I told him I support him whatever he chose but there are too many pluses and minuses that would affect our family...don't know to do thanks for listening....I don't want to say anything at work or to may family

He didn't have to give a decision right away did he? You guys can sit down tonight and decision all of those Pros and Cons and decide which way you want him to go.

Aww Lyn This could be a good thing!! Kelli is right, you both need to sit down and go over all the good and the bad about all choices. It's the best way to cover it all.

no, they are still talking....but it would probable happen this summer...which would be good...so that we could adjust somewhat before school starts.

well, maybe chatting will help get the emotions out...and I would love opinions/ideas. Here are the pros and cons:

Pros:
Right now it seems like it would be much more money than DH is making. I will try not to be too specific (since this is the internet)...but right now he makes less than me...and I am supposed to get a raise soon and he is supposed to get a cost of living increase soon too...so the difference in his pay and mine (with his current job) would be around 17K or more in a couple months. With this new job, his pay would go to being about 13K or more than mine...so that is a HUGE increase for him.

He might be able to work a day or two at home, since this is computer related.

He could still go to school online, like he is doing now.

If things got really hectic with the kids (see cons) he would probable make enough that I could stay home if we needed a parent at home...put we would need to cut back on somethings.

Right now, we are trying to put more away for the kids for school and pay down our house debt, so if we are both working...this extra money would really help.

He would get plenty of airline miles for future vacations

Cons:

The other days of the week he would need to work on another island (where the city is) Which would totally affect our life since he picks up/takes the kids to school now. And, next year (for one year only) DS and DD will be at different schools. Plus, he currently takes DS to his activities...which start way early for me to do it. I work in town and so between my commute and parking, I can't be in the area we live in time to do those types of things...it may get hectic.

He will need to stay overnight more often on the other island. I really dislike being home alone at night and so my Mom comes over. This would be a huge impact to our family...I would need to learn to live with it.

DH feels horrible at the thought of me leaving my job if things got bad. I like my work and the people at work (for the most part ) and I may go insane at home. Plus, with all I went through to get where I am, I think he feels sad for me to give it up.

I know!!!! Are you still avaliable as a nanny? j/k ...I think that is one of the hard parts for DH...not being with the kids as much and leaving his wife home alone

I still haven't gotten a job yet, I can still make a move for ya! The way I feel right now I really would go! I need to get away from all this crazyness!!


Just think the time away will make him miss you even more
