well-He uses our new microwave over the range all the time-so the other night I heard him getting something ready to cook nd then I hear a bunch of ticking noises coming from the kitchen-I asked what was going on,but no answer-so I get up and now the noise is getting louder!!!

As I come into the kitchen, I see FLAMES coming out of the microwave-IT"S ON FIRE!!!!! MY NEW MICROWAVE IS ON FIRE!!!!! and he's in the Bathroom!!!!

:scared1:

well-he says as we are pulling a box of chili out of the micrpowave still on fire-ashes going everywhere-well it said it was microwavable!!!!

so he reads the lable-OH PLACE IN BOWL AND THEN MICROWAVE!!!!! I swear I'm going to Kill him yet

so he says I'll clean it-and he leaves all the ashes on the stove the burnt napkin in the sink(he covered the chili box with) and smears the top of the scorched microwave making it look worse than ever!!!

so after an hour of scrubbing with all my cleaning stuff-just trying to find one to remove the burned marks I finally find one that works-only 3 small marks remain-but you have to look really close

Did he remind you that at least he covered it so that it wouldn't splatter?? :lmao:

::yes:: and now he's home sick,so I guess he had it made here and is realizing this is going to take some effort to make it close to what he had here!!!

I was going to contact the cable co to get his cable internet hooked up-but DH says No Way let him figure this out on his own-but I really want to to do this!!!(see it's the same co we have here-so they could charge my account for the 1st month)

The chili came in a foil lined box and the ticking I heard was really sparking/arching of the microwaves!!!! In about 10 seconds more and we would of lost the microwave all together!!! He's damn lucky!!!!

We never would have lasted together in the same house. I think I would have killed him by now.

DD gave me an Outback gift card for Mother's Day so we've been waiting for the opportunity to be able to go. I made such a pig of myself! :rotfl:

I really think he's going to end up back and home. I give him three months. He may not have thought that he was gonna miss his family but I bet he does, especially being so far away that he can't visit or come home for a meal. It's going to be a good learning experience for him.

I agree with your DH. After all we've gone through with our DD being out on her own, I wish I had listened to DH more times than I did. He's always the one to say, "she's got to stand on her own if she wants to be on her own" and I'm the one to say "but she's still our little girl, let's just help her this once." Once, twice, three-hundred fifty seven...you get the point. I know it's hard. I'm just learning what I wish I had three years ago.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I'm sorry, I just can't help but laugh. I'm honestly laughing out loud. It's just so funny when you have to think about the fact that there are really people like him!

Yeah, it was a great gift. DD doesn't usually do gifts very well. :lmao: Unless, of course, she borrows my credit card. Then she's usually pretty generous! :rotfl:

doesn't he knew you're trying to SELL the house, NOT burn it down!!

Don't worry about me if I'm not on much (or at all) today or tomorrow. Tomorrow is the day that my friend and I are catering a wedding reception for a friend of ours. He's paying for all the food but we are doing all the cooking, setting up and serving as our gift to him. He's gotten so much help from so many different people to make this happen. He's the co-manager at the store I work at and his fiance is a first-year teacher. They wanted to pay for the everything themselves so as not to burden their parents at all. They started with a simple cake and punch reception and that idea has really grown.

They were going to have a few silk flowers...but our floral designer at the store is giving up her day off to arrange all the flowers for the wedding and the reception. They ordered all the fresh flowers in through the store so that he gets them at cost.

They were going to have a sheet cake or very basic tier cake...but our merchandiser for the company offered to come up (from the home office 100 miles from here) and do the cake at the store on her day off! Now their having a really beautiful red velvet cake. He and his fiance had picked the red velvet cake before thinking of the fact that his mom is allergic to something in it. Well, the baker found out and offered to make a miniature white wedding cake for her to enjoy!

They were going to just ask guests to take pics and give them copies and one of the people from their church is a photographer and stepped up and offered to do it at cost.

And Bev and I offered to do the food.

Isn't it nice when so many people pull together to make something happen like this???? Everyone just thinks the world of this guy!

I know what you mean-I told him to give it 3 months to see if he satrts feeling better-so we'll see,he's already making plans to go back to Wisconsin-since we'll be down south already-but at least he's got plenty of friends here and it wont be as bad as being out there so far from everyone-but he might just surprise me and DH and stay the entire year(or more)

He may end up really liking it out there and decide to stay.
