they just changed our school system...this is the first year that all the public schools (and most the private converted to copy the state) will be on the same, year round schedule. So, the kids start in late July, have 1 week off in October, 3 weeks at Christmas/New Years, 2 weeks in March and then I think 6 weeks in summer. I like the new schedule....more little breaks instead of on super long summer.

We have a bunch of little one day offs it seems.

Nothing like her waiting until the last minute to sign up for this. Which in a way makes me a little upset with her.

It is cool that she is confident enough to sign up....I was one of those out-going kids that had no talent...it made it really hard to try and get out of those types of things...can't sing, dance, juggle...nothing :confused3

That is DD.

I am just hoping she is not heartbroken if she doesn't make it thru the try-outs tomorrow. And she is totally unprepared for this. She just thinks she can get up there and wing it. :confused3

bye all!!! :wave2:

I'll try catching up later, but more things to do today like painting my room and finish up the basement & trim plus we want to stop in at the humane society and drop off some cans of dog food from our dog and donate lots of things to Goodwill-not much(is it??)

but yesterday I got 3 dressers and about 5 boxes of stuff out of the house so it's starting to look much cleaner around here :thumbsup2 Plus DD room is now very clean and ready to repaint!!!

WOW! :faint:

I wish I could get that much done around here!

Yep. And maybe this is what my brother needs to get back on his feet. And maybe my SIL will figure what is important in her life.

Hey did I tell you guys that DD signed up for her school Talent Show yesterday. It was a surprise to me that is for sure. And the best part is that Try-outs are tomorrow and she doesn't have a clue what she is going to sing. She knows she wants to sing. So we have to scramble tonight to figure it all out.

:cheer2: Go Ashli! :cheer2: She'll have so much fun!!

One of the schools in our county tried the year-round school for two years and ended up going back to the old way. It just didn't work out that only one school in the system was running that way. I'd like to see them try it county-wide, though. I think I'd like it!

:confused3 maybe she can...some people have to really prepare for something, and others are naturally gifted in an area and can improvise....as long as it is fun, I think she will be fine :thumbsup2

that is how it was here for several years...some on year round and other weren't...which made it really hard for parents that taught and/or had kids in different schools.

Well I am getting ready to head out the door.

I will see you later.
